Chapter 1 : Whisked Away Edalyn was unusual. She had blonde hair and olive eyes flecked with gold. Her skin had a glow to it and her teeth were sharper. Most kids thought she was weird. Of course she was, she was different from everyone in St. Mary’s Orphanage and anywhere else. She had only one friend, Lilith. They were like sisters. One Monday, she and Lilith (they/them) were eating lunch. Eda didn’t think the food tasted good. “If only we had money, this food would actually be good,” she complained. “I don’t mind. I love French toast,” Litilthe said. They munched on their veggie burger. The bell rang a moment later. “Well, see you later.” they said and went straight to class. After Eda dumped her tray in the trash can, she walked over to her locker to get her things. As she opened it, she was peppered in sparkly purple powder. “ What the-” Eda blacked out. Eda woke up in a really comfy bed. She had questions. Where was she? Why was she here? Suddenly, the door swung open. She turned around.
