Everyone's said it enough to the point where its safe to say I don't think I need to explain why. I'm not giving up my soul to be put into a multi million person soulless machine designed to pump out slop to replace humanity. This new policy disgusts me, being forced into having all the data from you and 40% of any 8-13 year old kid with access to technology be put toward "GenAI" to """"""""""Help out with your coding problems"""""""""" is not okay in the slightest. No child will even know what kind of chaotic mess they're getting themselves into. And fearmongering you into accepting this policy or risk having your account - and everything tied to it - terminated is unbelievable and ultimately unacceptable (Non for profit corp btw). The whole reason I hadn't moved on till now was because I once thought of this website as a safe and welcoming environment in a growing region of toxicity, misdirection and malice. It is beyond disappointing to see it turn into a predatory, site wide data raid in the attempt to power an invasive tool that's supposed to aid humanity, but does nothing but harm human soul, creative freedom, and the environment in less than 24 hours. The Scratch Team - and by extension, every company that uses/supports GenAI - needs to very quickly understand that ~this~ is something that very very few people want to endorse, let alone be a part of. And forcing this ideology of forfeiting your data, your creative spirit and hours upon hours of trial and error toward what can be considered masterpieces onto people in order to continue should be treated as a criminal offense in my opinion. So with that all being said, this may be the end of my creative career on this platform. I am beyond disappointed that this is how it ends, but with this new harmful policy... it has to happen. However, while I am retiring from this website, I am not retiring from animation and other sprite based activities, far from it. As a matter of fact, I may have found an alternative. So from now on if you wish to keep up to date on my content, you'll find me here: https://codetorch.net/en/users/Fyron8113 Once the account is fully set up, all of my projects will migrate there except for this one as to not let GenAi get its filthy clanker hands on my only outlet of creative freedom And once the conspiracy is solved, I'll have enough motivation to move on to more serious projects, including Exo 6, which you can preorder subscriptions to my YT when they drop sooner or later: https://www.youtube.com/ Let me be clear. This is not goodbye. I'm praying that this alternative will allow me to continue working on my passion for storytelling and cinematic flair, and I'm hoping you all will have the courage to join me on this new frontier where we can continue sharing our stories and ideas on what is hopefully a truly safe and welcoming environment. Its been fun, but its time to let go... Sayonara... scratch.mit.edu
