HOTHEAD: THE UNDERDEVELOPED ENDLESS PLATFORM GAME (legit just a few levels over and over again) everything was made by me except the music in case it wasn't obvious, i left scratch. i havent posted a project in over a year, and this will probably be the final project I share before my departure from this website. Scratch's programming is too basic and novice for me now. I'm 13, and I started Scratch when I was 9. I grew annoyed and tired of using block-based code. All I could think to myself was: "What are you doing? You should be giving yourself a challenge! You're not a 6 year-old using code.org, what's wrong with you???" Eventually, I ended up forcing myself to code on scratch, which kinda hurt my confidence. then one day i said to myself, "ok yk what im done, gg scratch" Recently, I've been learning how to code in Python, and I want to make games with it using Pygame, which is a Python extension directly aimed at game devs. I figured along the way I could also learn GML, which is the coding language used in GameMaker Studio. This will help me take Hothead alot further in my computer science career. but i didn't want my departure from scratch to be so mysterious, so I decided to create one last project for it. I did consider remastering the original hothead demo (which is actually dogwater btw) or even making the whole game once and for all. I asked my two close friends @TheDerpHerp5 and @DaSecondOne about it on disc and they said it'd be a waste of time. i guess they were right. the other day I was scrolling through my unfinished and unshared scratch games and projects when I found this really good-coded hothead test. since I lost interest in finishing the game on scratch, i shared the underdeveloped version (hence the name of the project.) so yeah, uh, that's where ive been the last 3 months. also game development is only one of my main hobbies. I still animate, and i gotta say, ive been improving a LOT. i have a yt channel, and you should go subscribe to it: https://www.youtube.com/@ccrowned-fvv/ i mostly upload animations there. despite me getting fed up with scratch, this was still such a life-changing experience. this website is the only thing that kept my mind from decaying during covid :skull: thank you to everyone who watched my animations and played my games. and especially thank you to everyone who decided to follow me on scratch. as of april 5, 2024 (when i shared this project), i have 190 followers. maybe we can get to 200 at one point? hope you understand though. i hope you also understand that I'm not 100% distancing from scratch. I'll still come by to look at other people's projects. if you want to follow me to my yt channel, CCrowned, then I'll see you there. if not, then goodbye. :) (controls: arrow keys, no kidding) i might add more levels every now and then if im bored, but i'll stop at one point. f + 5
