A classic-style fairy tale isn't all that hard to write. If you read enough fairy tales, you start to pick up on the common elements and storytelling devices. And if you know those, it's basically just a fill-in-the-blank story template. The elements I used in this "fairy tale" were: - Heroes using their wits to overcome obstacles - A person in disguise, usually to get closer to the love interest - A woman disguised as a man - Three tasks - A beautiful princess While you won't find this in any fairy tale collection (because of its gayness, and the fact that I made it up yesterday), I've done my best to write it in the style of Andrew Lang's fairy tales so that it does feel like an actual, classic story.
