She realized that each world she visits usually has its own unique system of magic, but 'connected' worlds could also have the same kind of magic system. Jane during these times wore a green-black cloak and stopped wearing her glasses. She relied on her powers to fix her eyesight instead because looking at her glasses reminded her of Lyra every single time. She was usually a quiet person who envied every single world she visited. Who she was before did not change. She was still kind to others and was still an optimistic person. The world was still full of secrets her curiosity wanted to explore, and she still loved seeing small, genuine smiles from people who felt happiness. Despite all that, however, she did change. She was extremely wary of strangers and felt terror whenever someone started talking to her first, to the point where one could see her shaking like a leaf. Towards people she was somewhat comfortable with, however, she smiled and cried and laughed. She talked and talked until the time came to bid them farewell. She didn't want to leave, but had no choice in order to study magic in another world. People like that were difficult to meet, but she was not someone who could stay friends forever with anyone. And she believed that would be the case for eternity, or perhaps, if fate was feeling merciful to her, it would be until the day she finds what she wanted. She was wrong.
