A Gram Stain is a laboratory method used to detect the presence of bacteria and identify bacteria into two large groups: Gram-Positive (+) and Gram-Negative (-). Gram (+) bacteria will be dyed dark purple while Gram (-) bacteria will be dyed dark red-pink.
