Hi! Congratulations on 800+! I entered for Sea Blue and also wrote a story below :) I hope you like it! ~BACKSTORY~ The floor jerked and trembled beneath my paws as I ran, forcing my legs to go faster even though it felt like any minute they would fail, the neon blue lights on the walls of the hallway becoming one big blur. Distant shouts and explosions sounded outside, encouraging my fear. The floor suddenly lurched upwards as a skyscraper crushed the ancient hallway a few tail lengths behind me, ripping off the ceiling and sending me flying. I landed with a loud /thunk/ in a pile of rubble, the remains of the ancient temple. Dust clouded my vision, making me cough. But when it cleared, my eyes filled with tears as I saw the devastation of my home: The skyscrapers that made up the beautiful kingdom were falling this way and that and a dark void had opened up overhead, completely covering the sun. And there, in the middle of it all, was a pitch black, humanoid figure. Its eyes were white with an outline of yellow, and was surrounded by this smokey black substance that would glitch out of sight every so often, which was the same case with itself. It seemed to be there but not actually there, like it had breached realms to get to this one but hadn't fully succeeded. I could see soldiers attempting to attack it, but it met them head on with a slash of its deadly claws, and in a whirl of black, they were gone. But I quickly realized that it wouldn't have mattered if the soldiers had gotten to it or not as missiles flew straight through the alien creature, as if it wasn't physically there. I snapped back to my senses and ran, shaken by what I had just seen. I headed for the portal ruin, knowing that it was my only chance to escape. Everyone but The Master was forbidden from using it, but he was gone now. And I knew he'd understand if he were still here. I leapt over rubble and the remains of fallen buildings, trying to keep out of sight, specifically because of my glowing fur patterns which would stand out against the darkness. I didn't stop when I reached the ruin, soaring past small rooms that dotted the hallway. Upon entering the main room I bounded up to the wall with all the ancient stone buttons marked with neon blue, glowing symbols. I frantically put in the coordinates as the building began to shake and chunks of ceiling fell from above, trying to remember what they meant. I pushed the last one and the portal slowly appeared behind me. It was enormous, just fitting the stone boarder around it. I stared into that black circle. It had a yellow outline, just like the ghostly black creature outside had around its eyes, but unlike it, glowing particles floated off of the portal outline, shining like stars. The building shook, knocking me off my paws. The ruin then began to collapse around me. I was, for a minute, paralyzed with fear but quickly regained my courage, turned tail, and leapt inside the portal, just before the building caved in. * * * I was dumped on the ground around half a mile away from my kingdom. The portal closed and I jumped up, trying to figure out were I was exactly. I noticed the ocean to my left, far away, and the seemingly endless plains that stretched as far as the eye could see in all directions. But behind me I saw my home: The black void hung over it ominously and the once beautiful city was now a gray wasteland of fallen buildings. I crumpled to the ground, overwhelmed with grief. I stayed there for who knows how long, remembering all the now impossibly sad memories I had made there: My family, my friends, my accomplishments, my visions. My head snapped up. My visions! In all the chaos I had completely forgotten about my unnatural ability to see visions of the past, present, or future. My last one I'd seen this morning, right before the alien creature appeared out of nowhere and the destruction started. I had seen a humanoid figure wielding what seemed to be pure light itself, destroying the ghostly creature that had just destroyed my home. The person gave me an odd feeling, something I couldn't quite wrap my head around. It was like it had more life in it than anything else. And right then and there, I silently promised myself that I would find this mystery person, and when I did, I would help it defeat that evil beast, no matter how long it takes.
I just started out on Krita a couple of days ago and I think this turned out really well! I went for a Tron Legacy theme :) All art by: @-stellar_walker- All code by: @-stellar_walker- Original character by: @sourrpatchcat Music: Sons of Norway by Vexento #art #digitalart #DTAE
