← → to switch between slides !! ↪ hello~! this was my attempt at a semi-realistic painting, it's my first time trying something like this so i'd appreciate any constructive criticism! don't love how the face (especially those lips) turned out, but i think the shading on the lamp is pretty good at least TT process: 1. sketch: sketched the basic shapes and proportions 2. base colours: filled in base colours with minimal shading and bg 3. shading: blocked out where light and shadow would be, and drew an outline of the lamp to help me find the shape 4. shading: rendered clothes and body, going into more detail and refining those blocks in 3. 5. shading: rendered lamp using the base lines i drew previously, as well as shading part of the hair 6. defining: drew strands on the hair to make it seem more realistic (scratch butchered the quality TT), and after a long time of finding references finished the face. also found an overlay for snow in the bg 7. defining: used an airbrush to lighten up the glow of the lamp, found a brush that mimicked residue snow to use for contrast on the dark clothes. used a simple particle brush to create a snow effect in the foreground and blurred it to make it seem like it was falling ↪ disclaimer: this is just my own process, not a tutorial! ↪ credits code from @colorsnatch snow code from @-TotallyEpic-, edited by me #art #digitalart #anime #drawing #map #process
