Mode 1 visualizes the raw derivatives, each increasing its “power” by 1 each frame. Mode 2 is meant to be satisfying. Mode 3 is a race format, where each dot’s starting power is random, and each dot’s chance of winning is 1/6. Derivatives: 1st (Red): Velocity 2nd (Orange): Acceleration 3rd (Yellow): Jerk 4th (Green): Jounce / Snap 5th (Blue): Crackle 6th (Purple): Pop This is somewhat explained in Dungeon Quests 1 & 2 by @Will_Wam.
