An exponent is a math thing. You all know that multiplication is repeated addition. But what you may not know is that using exponents is like repeated multiplication. ^ is the exponent sign. In the problem 2^3 = 8, 2 is the base, 3 is the power, and 8 is the exponent. That problem is read as, "Two to the third power equals eight." The way this works is basically like this. The exponent is 3. That means that there are going to be three bases. So, you write three twos, with multiplication signs in between them. Then solve it. 2^3 2*2*2 4*2 8 Or you can think of it like this. 2^3 2*2 = 4 4*2 = 8 It doesn't really matter. Also, if you are familiar with squaring or cubing, then you know what exponents are. 10^2 is 10 squared, and 10^3 is 10 cubed.
I just randomly noticed that scratch is lacking an exponent block. Not any longer.
