Despite its loud bark, its bite is worse. This is the most popular dog for ordinary pets. Cats: Unlike dogs, cats in Malark are not bred for specific purposes other than ridding storage of mice. Most domestic cats in Hipanrillian villages are strays, community cats, or feral. Cats are believed to be better familiars for witches because they know no loyalty to humans as dogs know, and therefore are mostly ignored by humans. Horses: There are two main breeds of horses in Malark. Greathorse: Greathorses are large horses meant for pulling heavy loads, and are mainly used for farming purposes. Windhorse: Windhorses are swift and are used for hunting magical creatures because of their speed and agility. This is the horse favored by knights such as knights from the order of The Knights of Vrais Dieux [Knights of the True Gods] as well as Lord Felis Matatabi. Feildhorse: A feral breed of horse notorious for breeding with pegasi and unicorns. They can be tamed, and make average mounts that can help humans with a variety of tasks. Goats: Cheesegoat: A goat used for producing dairy such as goat's milk and cheese. It's an average-sized goat. Cattle/Oxen: Drakehorn ox: An oxen breed named for its long horns, also known for its great size and aggressive temper. Sheep: Sheep are bred and kept for wool, so there are not any distinct breeds that have been created. Pigs: Common village hog. A large hog with large muscles, usually not kept in pens because they are known for breaking fences. Chickens and other fowl: False-Cockatrice: The most prized breed of chicken, they are from eggs that are not incubated beneath the cockatrice's natural prey, the toad. Despite this, they do not do anything notably magical. Mahonai river duck: A white duck with a black beak. They are known for being quite vocal and living along the Mahonai river. When Old Mahonai fell, the ducks became feral over many generations.
