Within an obscured realm (?) resides the Watchers. They are an order that only takes over the First Realm when they decide that the Primordial’s Council (there are three branches; Ancients, Archaics, and the Mythics) is lacking. So, they have recently taken control, saying it’s due to the lackluster performance of the Primordial’s Council when in reality they have made a deal with Lady Esin, Majesty of Eclipse, and the main villain. The Watchers need to activate something known as Core Alisean, which would allow her to breach the First Realm. She wouldn’t be able to enter directly but she could send something through. However, in order to do this, they need all nine Descendants (Hybrids who are related to the Primordials directly) present along with the First Guardians. Unfortunately for them, the three youngest Descendants (Kay, Jesse, and Hunter) ran away and hid, having somewhat discovered the Watchers’ plot. In order to find them, the Watchers first need to extend their reach, so they decree every First-Born of any family that has reached a certain age is required to join a sort of defense/offense/search team. It’s seen as an honor by many. It is not. It’s really not. This brings the drawing into the picture. The one on the left is Ender Heirrise (he was redesigned literally yesterday. You can still find his old design somewhere) and the one on the right is Soarel Alkorrise (who was also redesigned). The First-Borns and the remaining Descendants were all given Watcher-based armor/clothing to wear. The reason for the name ‘Their Watchful Gazes’ is because they’re, well, Watchers. They can see what others can not. And it’s never good.
