Please let me know about any bugs in the comments! And yes, we now have functioning guns. ___________READ THE INSTRUCTIONS___________ P - starboard anchor up O - port anchor up L - starboard anchor down K - port anchor down 4 - engine room stand by 6 - engine room finished with engines 1,2,3 - forward speed 7,8,9 - reverse speed 5 - stop W - rudder port R - rudder starboard B - access fire control menu L and R Arrows - turrets side to side Z - load or unload turret 1 X - load or unload turret 2 C - load or unload turret 3 M - fire ___________________NOTES____________________ - If you stop, you will drift without dropping anchor. Deploying one anchor stops rotational drift, dropping two anchors stops both rotational and directional drift. Remember to come to a complete stop first. - Rudder position is inverse of bow movement. Remember: tiller towards trouble - You need to hold B to access the fire control menu. It is not an on/off switch, it is a toggle.
________________INSTRUCTIONS_______________ I recommend reading the notes at the bottom of the controls TO MAKE READY: - Tell the engine room to start the engines (stand by). It takes 3 seconds for the engines to start up, if you switch to a different telegraph command before then they won't start. TO GET UNDERWAY: - Weigh both port and starboard anchors. If you try to move without doing this, the ship will dig the anchors into the seabed and you will have to press the flag and start over. TO MOVE: - Use engine room and rudder controls. Pretty simple. Remember, driving a massive warship is different than a car or truck. Steering is tough and stopping distance is far. TO USE GUNS: - Access the fire control menu. This means you need to press and hold B WHILE pressing the other buttons. - Load all turrets. It takes each gun crew between 10 and 20 seconds to load or unload their respective guns, so don't panic if the indicator doesn't light up right away or at the same time. - Traverse the turrets either all the way to port or all the way to starboard. - Fire away! ___________________HISTORY__________________ The model of ship in this project is loosely based upon the World War Two German Bismark-class battleships, but it isn't meant to be a specific type. All modern sea powers have had battleships at one point, even if their numbers are reduced today. _______________PATCH NOTES________________ v.1.4 (Mar 17, 2023) Updated instructions to include fire control commands v.1.3 (Mar. 11, 2023) Fixed ship control keyboard map sprite v.1.2 (Mar. 11, 2023) - Fixed reload timing issue v.1.1 (Mar. 11, 2023) - Working gun turrets added v.1.0 (Feb. 24, 2023) - Game released If you have read this far, you deserve a reward: sail to the edge of the map to find a cheat code.
