I want you to forget everything you knew about warrior cats. Why you ask? Because this story breaks any previous ideas you may have about the clans. It's gonna get very crazy really fast, so I recommend you get ready, take a deep breath, and settle down as I tell you this story. Let me start at the beginning. My name is Dewpaw. I am an apprentice in Flowerclan, a secluded clan that lives tucked in a meadow between rocky hills and pine forest. We take in cats from all over, looking for shelter or just stopping by for a piece of prey. The clan is home to rogues, former kittypets and loners, and even some cats who were born here. I was born in Flowerclan, and have lived here my whole life. Our leader is a white cat with black splotches and deep green eyes. Her name is Pinestar and it's rumored that her original clan died off somehow. She doesn't say why. My mentor is Lightfeather, though you could more likely call him a friend because of how young and unprofessional he is. The cream and white tom is my best buddy out of anyone in the clan, or maybe like an older brother. Pinestar said she chose him because of his “enthusiasm will be a good match with me to help me open up more” They say I have nervousness issues and that I'm too quiet. But I can't help but be a little scared of dangerous things of the woods! Yet no matter what, I'm determined to do my best for the clan! My fur is pale white and gray and I have blue eyes. Anyway, back to the story! I think I've rambled on about my background for too long. It was a misty early morning when everything started. The damp grass felt cool under my paws as I padded out of the apprentice's den. I looked up at the fog shrouded pine trees, lost in thought until something fluffy barreled into me. The fluffy something yowled in annoyance at me, sounding very miffed. Her voice was high pitched, young, and full of outrage. “Did you not see me running toward you?!” She exclaimed. I shook out my damp fur and looked at my attacker. The cat looked as young as me, and slightly smaller. She held herself in a sort of self important, defensive way, like she had better things to do than run into a daydreaming apprentice. Her fur was a fiery ginger tabby and fluffy at the tail like a fox's. The she-cat's eyes were magenta-violet, though I could've sworn I saw them glint yellow for a second. Another thing that stuck out to me was the pink and purple flowers in her fur. I don't remember ever seeing this cat before, but it wasn't that strange. Maybe she came to visit during the night. “Hellooo?” she asked, fluffy tail swishing. “Oh, I'm so sorry. I was distracted. Are you new here?” I asked the she-cat. She blinked and narrowed her eyes at me. I decided that this diminutive cat was a little intimidating. Something about her smug, fierce aura made me nervous. She seemed like a cat who could rip me to shreds, but was holding back because she wanted to figure out who I was. “I need to talk to Pinestar, and I might stay for a while if I feel like it” “Pinestar, how come? Did you get here last night?” She nodded. I shuffled my paws awkwardly in the silence, until I spotted Lightfeather and I beckoned him over with my pale gray tail. He walked up to me and looked over at the ginger she-cat. “Oh hey, Flickerpaw was it? I see you've met my apprentice Dewpaw!” He gave us a good natured smile, but his eyes said something more like “have you been terrorizing my friend?” “I have” she glanced over at me. Her gaze was curious and calculating. So her name was Flickerpaw. If she was a clan cat, I certainly haven't met her clan before. “We kind of ran into each other, Lightfeather” I told him. “Literally” she added dryly. Lightfeather laughed, but I was shocked by her flippant personality. If an apprentice in Flowerclan started talking as brazenly she did that to a warrior, that warrior would have banished them to the elders den to pick ticks for all eternity. What did she have to be so smug about and what was her deal? “He's spacing out again” Flickerpaw poked me lightly with a paw and turned her violet gaze up at Lightfeather. He blinked. “Huh? Argh yeah, I do that sometimes” I told her. “So why do you need to talk to Pinestar? She's on an early morning hunting patrol but she'll be back soon” “It's none of your business, and I'm sure she'll explain it to you afterwards” Flickerpaw huffed.
