◈▫JWC Writing Competition 2023▫◈ Welcome to our writing competition for 2023! Our amazing judges for this session are our amazing host Dawn, @Dawn_Camps, Iris, @essayist, and Coco, @Cocomelon45! This year we're introducing two new categories! The Script category, and the Comic category! More will be explained below <3 ⇢ Winning Places There is a first place, second place, and third place winner along with a junior category winner. There will also be best character development, best conflict, best storytelling, best setting/world-building, and best theme winners. There are also three honorable mentions, as well as the Script and Comic categories. ⇢ The Script Category This category is to give a chance to any aspiring playwrights out there! Any short play or script counts for this, and it's also a opportunity to expand you're writing genre. ⇢ The Comic Category There are a lot of artists as well as writers in JWC, and to qualify for this category, you can make a short comic! The only requirements are that the comic has to be at least 3 panels long, include at least 6 dialogue bubbles, and tell a story! ⇢ The Junior Category While age does not necessarily equate to skill, the Junior Category was created to give a better chance to less experienced writers. By entering this category, you will not be excluded from winning the other places. This simply gives you another opportunity to place! If you are 12 or younger, you are eligible to enter the Junior category. If you aren't comfortable sharing your age online, that's completely fine! You can still enter for all the other categories. ⇢ Point Values Winning any of these places could help your cabin move up in rankings! The point values for each award are as follows: Honorable Mentions: 7,000 Comic Award: 7000 Junior Award: 10,000 Best _____: 10,000 Script Award: 12,000 Third Place: 15,000 Second Place: 20,000 First Place: 25,000 ⇢ Entry Requirements Comment on this project and be sure to include: ⇢ The title of the piece ⇢ How you published it (discussion forum, project, etc. Please publish it on Scratch!) ⇢ The word count (the max is 3,000 words) ⇢ A link to the piece, and ⇢ Whether you would like to enter the Juniors category You can comment something like this: // Title // Published in ___ (must be on Scratch) // Word count // Link // Juniors Category: Yes or No // Comic Category: Yes or No // Script Category: Yes or No ⇢ Notes This writing competition is / specifically for / creative writing which means that short stories, poems, or an excerpt from a fictional novel you are writing are allowed to be entered.
