Meghan ran into her room and quickly lock the door. She sat on her bed as the days events all come rushing. She can’t contain it anymore as I burst into tears. After a few minutes, she mutters to herself, “Pull it together, Meghan!” “How can I?” says a voice in her head. It’s nothing new. That voice has been there for 3 years now. “I don’t know, but it’s killing me!” She replies. She doesn’t hear the voice for the rest of the night. As Meghan lays in her bed, she tries to forget the events of the day. Of corse, there was one that wouldn’t go. “No body likes me.” she whispers right before she drifts off to sleep. Meghan then suddenly wakes up standing next to her bed. She turns around to see that her body it still in the bed. “Wha—“ she starts, but she’s cut off when her “body” makes a sudden move. “What’s going on?” she mutters, then realizing that the voice that came out was the same voice that’s been in her head. Before she knows it, she’s outside on the driveway and walking to the street. Meghan had no control over her “body” and seemed to be heading to her neighbor’s house across street. She gets frustrated and tries to walk back to her house, but her body keeps going forward. Her body keeps moving until She finds herself in their backyard. she still can’t stop from jumping into a bush. The next thing she knows, she’s falling straight through the ground “Down the rabbit hole!” Meghan cried, trying to make herself laugh. But instead of things floating around, she’s just falling. But at neck-breaking speed. At this moment is when Meghan realized she couldn’t feel any of her limbs. She just felt like a body less form. “Well, if I have no body, how can I still feel the pressure of this fall?” she wondered to herself. Meghan then hits the ground with a tremendous speed. “That was supposed to hurt.” she said, talking to herself. She got up and surveyed the area. The only way out was down a hallway that didn’t seem promising. Meghan still went down it, though. After a while, a light started to grow. Growing exited, Meghan ran down to the light. She stumbled into what seemed to be a broken down city. The buildings were crumbling and it was dark. “Poor soul.” She heard a woman say. She whirled around to see a young lady, her head bowed. Meghan soon noticed she was hovering slightly above the ground. “I need to get back!” She cried. The young woman looked up at her. “There’s no way back. Broken souls can’t go back.” Meghan stared at her. “I’m not a ‘broken soul.’ I’m a living girl. I just woke up suddenly and couldn’t stop myself from coming here.” Meghan stared at her with confusion while saying it. The lady shook her head. “Souls sometimes break in half to patch up the hole made by someone. And sometimes, the soul doesn’t have enough of itself to repair. So the piece comes to here, the City of Broken Souls.” The woman looked somber. “No! I bet their’s a way!” Meghan almost yelled it, then went running down the hallway and back to where she had landed. Looking up, she saw another hallway. It was narrow and just wide enough so she could climb up it. She jumped up and started climbing. Soon Meghan reached the top and ran down the dark pathway, gaining hope. But she found herself back in the City of Broken Souls. “I’m sorry.” The lady whispered. “There’s no way out.”
The story’s all me.
