They are the most passive of the four, and are entrusted with maintaining and caring for each cloud and star inhabiting the sky. It is also worth noting that he is the least powerful of the 4 deities, incredibly quiet (he does not speak much at all), and very fond of Amaris . • backstory - In the beginning, the four deities once had a discussion about the cycle of the sky; each had their own beliefs and strong opinions about how the vast sky should appear. The two most powerful deities, Solstice and Amaris, had conflicting views on the sun and moon: “The sun should always be shining,” Solstice would declare. “The mortal world will enjoy my bright and warming light! I’ll give them energy to run and a beautiful blue sky and—“ “you don’t suppose that’s excessive?” Amaris replied. “If the sun were always to shine, mortal eyes would soon grow tired. If you were to always give them energy to run, when would they rest? I will give them gentle moonlight to rest their bones beneath, and a velvety dark sky to shield and conceal them.” And so, it was agreed that the sun and the moon would share their time in the sky equally. The next most powerful deity, Yesterday, had his own idea for the rain and wind. He was lazy and relaxed, and so he declared: “i don’t wish to be restrained to a time of day. The rain is grand! It will help the mortal world grow and thrive! It needn’t rain constantly, though; that would lead to many floods. I wish to rest most days so i do not strain, but on the days i posess strength i will shower the mortal world with rain and bestow the cooling wind upon their backs!” Neither Solstice nor Amaris saw any flaws in his idea (or dared to point any out even if they did), thus is was agreed: the rain would pour intermittently. The three thought the cycle was complete, until Amaris turned to find the final deity quietly tending to a cloud. “What about Tomorrow’s stars, and his clouds?” she inquired. “There’s no need for stars! their light is too dim and will clutter the sky. As for clouds — they will block my beautiful blue sky and bemas of light!” Solstice complained, aghast. Amaris felt it was unjust that Tomorrow was being disregarded in such a careless and vain fashion. Pitying the final, least powerful deity, she gently called Tomorrow away from his cloud. “Solstice does not want your stars to accompany her sun, so how would you like to display your beautiful stars alongside my moon?” She asked him. “I’d like that. Very much,” he responded. “for your generosity, i would also like the clouds to give way to moonlight. they may block out the sun’s vain brightness after Solstice’s cruel remarks, but your gentle moonlight will always shine through and look just as beautiful as you are kind.” Tomorrow and Amaris became close, and nighttime was blessed with the moon, the stars, and a velvety dark sky. And so it was begrudgingly agreed: the sky was complete. Now, when you look up at the sky, notice how the clouds may sometimes block out the sun’s harsh light, but always give way to the gentle moonlight. You’ve got Tomorrow to thank for that. … (if i win, ill probably make designs for the other deities too !! :D)
