I'm back. DOUBLE CLICK THE FLAG to make the layering work as intended. It's here! Windows 2.3.1, the successor of my most viewed original project, Windows 1.0, which became Windows 1.9.9. Lots of bugs, some may be unfixable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- KEY DIFFERENCES: There's a nice gradient effect applied to almost everything Draggable windows The icons look so much better The Microsoft store ACTUALLY WORKS Games are different A new background based off of Windows XP's "Bliss" Chrome kinda sorta technically works (typing might come later) You can shut down Windows with the little icon in the corner (it took me 5 minutes to perfect the animation) A nice white circle effect behind everything when you click it There are cursor skins (definitely not an idea stolen from @ANormalNoob's project)! Different apps! There's a login (definitely did not take me 30 minutes to figure out)! ...and more to come! PLANNED CONTENT: More games Making google better More music More cursor skins Recycling bin will work More emails Finish implementing calculator ENDINGS (Spoilers): System32 ending: Disregard my advice for the second time and delete System32. CPU overload ending: Perform the Konami Code during the maze game and get to the red flag.
Press one of the chrome search bars to search for that specific thing. As usual, everything is hand-drawn. No assets were ripped from google. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Windows 1: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/421018972/ Basically Windows XP (my friend's game): https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/519921074/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE LOG: Windows 2.0: First release, with Microsoft Store (no apps currently able to be installed), Games app, 2 games (Running Simulator, Maze Game), Chrome (technically works, I guess?), Emails, an unusable Recycling Bin (will work in future update!), Music (only 2: Loud Mii Theme and a horrible song I composed in chrome music maker that took like 2 minutes), and Cursor Skins (1 currently: Nostalgia Cursor, which was the old cursor from Windows 1, replaced in an update with the new one). There's also a teaser (kinda) of my upcoming new game (not going to be part of Windows 2). Windows 2.1: Two apps to install: Not MS Paint and Not Google Translate. NGT doesn't work quite yet, though. Also added passwords: You can press space and skip it, but you can also fill one in. It will save it, and you can use it to "log in." You can also reset your passwords by pressing 1 2 3 in that order. Windows 2.1.1: NGT works now. First type what you want to translate, then what language you want to translate it to. Windows 2.2: FILES! And also System32 (DO NOT DELETE IT). And also the first of many endings that are going to be added. The startup is also faster. Windows 2.2.1: Added a second ending (hint: has something to do with maze game). Fixed some small bugs and layering issues as well. Windows 2.2.2: Revamped Chrome logo. Fixed small issues and added a little animation for the second ending Windows 2.2.3: Added a small animation to the cursor when System32 is deleted. Minor graphical improvements and adjustments with the cursor. New teasers for my game, and very minor adjustments to the shutdown. Windows 2.2.4: Revamped Music Player, now looks better and also has a new system for how it plays music. Pausing/Unpausing is now available (not perfect - the music will still advance, albeit very, VERY slowly), and the button that initially stopped the music has been repurposed to reset the music instead. Windows 2.2.5: Bug fixes. Lots of them. (1 year hiatus as I pursued other interests) Windows 2.3: THE CALCULATOR UPDATE. That's right, after months and months of waiting, the calculator is now (mostly) up-and-running! You cannot drag the calculator around yet though. That might come in a later update. Windows 2.3.1: Exponents now work on the calculator. Yippee. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- CREDITS: - Coding, design, ideas - Inspiration for a lot of changes, idea for Maze Game, Thumbnail, and Cursor Skins, minor optimization ideas, testing.
