Tui canonically made Moonbli canon; although that you guys should feel free to make a "50 years into the future!" thing or something. (but please don't force your ideals onto anyone) Q: dragon aging A: That currently can't be answered. Age in Wings of Fire is, honestly, all over the place, but check out the fanon (NOT canon wiki) wiki and you'll find a page. Q: Why a matriarchy? Wouldn't it be better if all genders could rule? A: I believe it's something about Tui disliking the fact that in most fantasy universes (and reality), men are usually the only canidates for leaders; and Tui wanted to make something different from that for once. Q: animus magic wut A: First, a disclaimer. I'm not going to explain how Animus genetics work or dive into a bunch of crazy math. Second, I don't know why you're listening to a rando on the internet instead of, say, looking into things yourself, but my (semi)theories on animus magic are: 1. Animus magic, when used for reasons deemed "bad," depletes the user of their soul. Who decides what is bad? Some kind of deity? The moral structure at the time? Instructions written into the genes of an animus? Who knows and who cares. 2. Animus magic is stronger when used frequently. If a young/inexperienced dragon uses it for the first time, they'll have to use more straightforward commands. 3. Animus magic first appeared in IceWings (given that they seem to have the most understanding of it) and slowly spread to other tribes via "hybrid affairs." And that's it. Question V now- Q: why didn't Darkstalker use his animus magic to instantly wipe out the IceWings/why didn't Chameleon use the scroll to give himself treasure/some other animus magic-related plothole A: Tui seems to be really bad at not making glaring plotholes, but Chameleon didn't use the scroll to give himself treasure because he just...hadn't thought of it.
