journey | Zaine's SWC Leader Application / Demo Album After 3 months of hard work, my leader application has come to fruition! Tutorial in the project as always <33 The inspiration for this leader application came when I talked with a few SWC friends about a guy in my personal life (spoiler, he's a bad person). I made it a joke to describe my day through the stages of the "hero's journey" -- a common story structure found in many monomyths. Somehow, this spiraled into a themed album, where each track on the album was based on a step in the hero's journey. Campbell's original hero's journey consisted of 17 parts, which, for me, was unreasonable to complete in time (and I didn't need that many parts). Therefore, I settled on using Vogler's 12-part version. These songs are all demos and are by no means close to finished products. (I also can't sing, but let's just ignore the off-tune notes and voice cracks.) Each of these demos took from 3-10 hours to make, disregarding the time it took to write lyrics and choose chords. I'm aware some of my answers have typos, but I'm on quite a time crunch, so I hope you can forgive me for those errors. The majority of this application was created while I was sick (I'm still sick); Luna suggested I share all the songs on a separate project, but with my vocals while sick (and some rushed instrumentals), I thought I'd put that off until I thought I was ready. <3 -- Links: Additional Excerpt (writing competition entry from last session): https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/6770320/ Answers in forum format: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/6917842/ Lyrics to songs: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/6917846/ -- Credits: All lyrics, instrumentals, and music of the twelve songs were created by myself All coding was done by myself Soundtrap as the DAW I used for vocals and instrumentals Inspiration from all my favorite artists Canva for the majority of graphics and visual design, created by me Autodesk Sketchbook for art (clock + tutorial), created by me, additional art (buttons) done using Scratch Vector for giving me tips on how to use Canva <33 and for being the friends I was talking to that led to the inspiration for this application All the current and past hosts, co-hosts, ghosts, and honoraries for everything they've done for SWC! and a lot of other people for providing me with tips and encouragement <33 for being my number one role model meows
