FULL ARENA DESCRIPTION This round's arena is located in a vast and untamed rainforest. It central feature is a towering waterfall cascading down a sheer cliffside of several hundred feet, plunging into a crystal clear pool below. In the heart of the lake lies the cornucopia, modeled after the beloved Stuart and which snaps closed whenever there is nothing waiting within. For the first time in the history of the games, the cornucopia will not be open at the first day. It is surrounded by enormous lily pads with spiky undersides, some of which are well strong enough to support the weight of a cat and some of which will flip over at the lightest touch, attempting to trap its victims underneath. The dense forests begin almost as soon as the lake ends, blocking out much of the light that streams down from the sky above. It is difficult to see properly here save for a few clearings where the trees have been removed, letting in that previous sunlight, though these are scarce and in high demand. Glowing mushrooms have been spread all across the forest floor. The effects of eating one of these are yet unknown. The trees are easy to climb with moderate skill, and should one choose to scale them all the way to the top they will encounter many dangers along their path. The second layer one will encounter, the understory, hosts the fearsome jagumonkey, an unnatural hybrid mutt with the strength of a jaguar and the agility of a monkey. The catlike influences found in its build make this mutt even worse to behold. The third layer is the canopy, where tangling vines dripping down from the tops of trees harbour all kinds of unsavory plants. Oversized venus flytraps, sundew plants, and pitcher plants dangle in wait, large enough to ensnare a cat. There are even plants of Stuart's brethren, who are able to seek out prey with their own eyes and limbs. Finally the emergent layer, where the largest threat lies in the elements. Without the shelter of plants, each weather effect is experienced twofold. However, very few plants and animals venture up this high for that same reason, creating a sort of safety that cannot be acquired anywhere else. The Capitol has meticulously designed each layer of the rainforest with space to make encampments and bases.
