Bio: Name: Oracle Pronouns: He/him Species: Cat Sexuality: Questioning Personality: Very friendly and outgoing, acts younger than he is, is always trying to be "spooky and mysterious" but is terrible at it, pretty mischievous, fun to be around, has quite a high opinion of himself, doesn't take anything seriously, not very good in bad or traumatic situations, always assumes the best of everyone, quite trusting, a bit naïve. (Wow that's a lot of traits.) Backstory: TW: Dark-ish themes and death "ᴸᶦᵍʰᵗ, ᵈᵃʳᵏ, ᵈᵃʳᵏ, ˡᶦᵍʰᵗ... ᵗʰᵉʸ ʷᵉʳᵉ ᵃˡˡ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵃᵐᵉ ᶦⁿ ᵗʰᵉ ᵉⁿᵈ..." Oracle was born to a family of witches’ cats, who had been in witches’ families for generations. However, when Oracle was eight weeks old his parents d!ed in a fire in suspicious circumstances, and his twin brother Occult went missing. Oracle lived on the street for several months, until he was adopted by an older cat - who was also a witch's cat, and a witch in her own right - named Amira. Amira however didn't live with a witch, but lived alone and practised magic by herself. She took Oracle in and taught him how to be a familiar. Oracle loved being a witch’s cat and was naturally very good at it because of his heritage. He was also very skilled at magic in his own right. Amira noticed that there was something a little odd about his magic skills, but couldn’t quite put her finger on it and decided to just forget about it. Amira and Oracle formed a very close bond with each other, like a mother and son. When Oracle was about a year old, a second tragedy happened. The house where he lived with Amira was destroyed in a flood, and their neighbours were kiIIed. Everyone living nearby blamed Amira - they had never really trusted her as she was a witch - and they drove the two of them out. They lived in the forest for a while, surviving and travelling from place to place, but they seemed to be pursued at every turn. Someone seemed to want them dead. After a long time, they were finally confronted by their hunters. The Light Seekers, a mysterious group with one aim - to banish all darkness and evil from the world, for ever. They were obsessed with finding and destroying the Keeper of the Darkness, who was believed to be the one source of all evil as they contained a force known simply as the Darkness, where all evil came from. If the Keeper of the Darkness died, the Darkness would be destroyed. At least, this is what the Light Seekers thought. It wasn’t actually true. The Darkness was not a force of evil - it was simply a neutral force, and the way it was put to use was up to the beholder, the same way as the Light (which the Light Seekers believed was the opposite of the Darkness and the force of all goodness, when in actual fact it was also a neutral force). However, the Light Seekers had no way of knowing this, and they were determined to destroy the Darkness for what they believed to be a good cause. This didn’t explain why they were hunting Amira and Oracle, though. When they were confronted, Amira demanded to know why they were trying to kiII them. The Light Seekers replied that they were trying to kiII Oracle because… he was the Keeper of the Darkness. They’d taken his brother Occult at birth because they’d thought he would be the Keeper of the Darkness, but they’d been wrong - Occult was just ordinary, and they’d had him adopted by a family. Now they wanted to kiII the true Keeper of the Darkness - Oracle. And that is where the story ends… for now. Amira and Oracle are still working together to find the Keeper of the Light - they’re certain they exist somewhere - and defeat those who seek to destroy them. Darkness isn’t always a curse. Just like light isn’t always a blessing. Powers: The Darkness lets Oracle have several powers. He can see in the dark very clearly, and can also bend the dark to his will, making places dark and stopping people from being able to see them. He also has shadowy powers that he can use to defeat enemies. Finally, he can communicate with the Darkness - the force, that is - and it’s helped him out of several tight situations throughout his life. The Darkness is almost like a friend to him. I'll continue Oracle's story if I win him :D
