-Type and What it is Monarchflutter will have Social Anxiety Disorder. Social Anxiety Disorder, or Social Phobia, is a type of anxiety where you have high levels of anxiety, fear and avoidance in public places, due to feelings of embarrassment and self-consciousness of being judged or viewed negatively by people. These feelings may result from parties, school, crowds, gatherings, and places where there are a lot of people. Those feelings may also result from doing day to day things in front of people, such as eating, talking, using a public bathroom, etc. Other things that may raise levels of anxiety are speaking in public, meeting new people, talking to strangers (cashiers, waiters, etc) and dating, plus many more. The person with Social Phobia will tend to avoid public or crowded places, in fear that they may be seen negatively by people. -Reasons My reasons for Monarchflutter having this condition is that on the boats during the Great Journey, she ruined relationships with her friends, plus acted horrible to almost every cat she came across. She realizes this now and regrets it. Another reason for this is that in my litter application, I put that Monarchflutter would have anxiety. She’s a warrior now and I’m finally doing that after much forgetting and not researching it. -Causes Some causes of Social Anxiety Disorder can be: Abvse Bullying Family conflicts Death or desertion of a parent Maternal stress during pregnancy or infancy Inherited Environment Monarchflutter has desertion of a parent, although she’s never really cared too much about that. She also has environment, environment being the Great Journey. I’ll talk about how that’s a cause of Social Phobia below in Effects. It’s possible that she might have it inherited. She doesn’t remember her parents, so it could be possible. -Effects It’ll start with her being afraid to talk to strange cats, in case they might have heard something bad about her. And then she’ll become afraid to go to the Gatherings. She’ll try to avoid patrols as much as she can, spending her time hunting alone in the territory by herself. She will feel comfort with her friends and family, often seeking them to talk to them about whatever. -Symptoms (This is directly from Mayo Clinc’s article on Social Anxiety Disorder) Blushing Fast heartbeat Trembling Sweating Upset stomach or nausea Trouble catching your breath Dizziness or lightheadedness Feeling that your mind has gone blank Muscle tension -Interviews I asked volunteers the following questions to get a better understanding about anxiety: +What type of anxiety do you have? +When did you discover you had it? +If there was one, what was the trigger/cause of it? +How does it affect your day to day life? +Anything else you’d like me to know about it? Otherwise, that’s it! Thank you! I won’t be naming anyone for privacy reasons. I learned that certain things such as words or sentences can cause a person with this to become anxious. It’s hard to be in social settings for these people, because if they do one thing it makes them feel self-conscious and negatively viewed. -Closing Please ask if you have any questions! Let me know if I should clarify or fix anything. It’s 2:00 am, my brain is dead. Please ask if you have any questions! Let me know if I should clarify or fix anything. This is one of the two mental health disorders Monarchflutter will have (Social Anxiety Disorder and Depression). I’m going to do research for each, but this article is on social anxiety. -Sources I did my best not to repeat word for word what these articles say. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/anxiety/symptoms-causes/syc-20350961 https://www.bridgestorecovery.com/social-anxiety/causes-social-anxiety/ https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/social-anxiety-disorder-more-than-just-shyness https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/social-anxiety-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20353561
