Lyla sat in her hospital bed, tears rolling down her eyes. Her anxiety had gotten the best of her. She had an asthma attack giving a presentation in school, kids the same day, hours before had been laughing at her when she needed her inhaler and had thrown it on the ground, breaking it. Her head hurt, her eyes were wide though. She had so many breathing problems that nobody understood. Her seventh grade year was a bum so far. One word remained in her head. Disease. Lyla slowly walked into school. A kid named Martin suddenly grabbed her wrist. “Hey!” He said. “W-what?” Lyla trembled. “I hear you diabetic? Ain’t that true? Yeah or no?” He demanded, his accent echoing. “I-I..am!” Lyla said, pushing him off. “Ohhh! So little miss stutter wants to push people?” Martin said, grabbing her backpack. “Hey!” Lyla cried. “Watcha gon’ do?” Martin asked, laughing. Lyla felt like the world would end. No. No. No. Her breathing slowed as she started choking, the light dimming and her eyes shutting, against the commotion. She woke on the hospital, once again. Tears rolling down her cheek. Her mother held her hand. “Oh honey…” Her mother cried. “We are moving, you won’t be made fun of at the new school you go to, you won’t be bullied, you will be treated fairly and lovingly.” Her mother promised. Her mother wrote a letter to her teacher: Dear Mrs. Har My daughter will no longer be attending this school. You may ask why It’s because she will be going to a different school. Where no one will bully her condition. No one will take her stuff. From Sara. _______________ Lyla slowly looked in the mirror. Her new school would hopefully be better. Slowly Lyla walked in the hallways. “Hi!” Said a sudden voice. A young girl with glasses and baggy clothes was talking to her. “H-hi!” Lyla said, smiling. “I’m Aubrey, what’s your name?” The girl asked. “I-I’m Lyla!” Lyla said, her smiling growing bigger. Aubrey extended her hand for Lyla to shake it. Lyla slowly extended her hand, and shook it. “Friends?” Aubrey asked, tipping her glasses. “Yes!” Blurted out Lyla with a smile to big for her face. The end!
Made the title on Canva! I just wanted the morale to be stop bullying in general, just don’t bully, okay? I wrote the whole story myself! <3
