There was light, oddly enough, and Solaryx squinted against the brightness of it, her tail wagging rapidly. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest. She was really doing this, her Conversion, and all on her own, too. Doing it on her own gave her a sense of pride and happiness. It made her feel brave and independent, that she could prove she didn’t need to depend on her family for everything in her life. As she began to climb her way out of the portal, gripping the edge firmly, she suddenly felt someone grab her wrist. The bleached fox’s eyes lit up as she glanced up. “Solaryx!” the white panther that was standing over her mused. He easily pulled her up to her feet, his bushy tail lashing behind him. Clovedian quickly followed behind Solaryx, pulling himself and his wife up, allowing Hunter to pull himself up as the portal behind the four animals closed. “Moon!!” Solaryx beamed, her tail wagging frantically as she suddenly hugged him. The white panther quickly mimicked her action, hugging the fox tightly to his chest, lowering himself to the fox’s eye level. “Are you ready for your Conversion, sweetie?” he questioned her, lightly caressing her cheek, just as Clovedian had done. Solaryx giggled bashfully, letting her eyes flick around her surroundings, quickly scanning her surroundings in the castle. “Mhm!” she nodded vigorously. The panther smiled at her, motioning for the four of them to follow. Clovedian gently mumbled something to his wife before speeding up his pace, walking side by side with the panther. “You look nice, Moonblind,” he gently murmured to the white panther. Moonblind chuckled coyly, fidgeting with the sleeves of his shirt. “Oh, you’re just saying that…” he chuckled. “This is… this is just something I found in the back of my closet, it’s nowhere near how fancy I usually dress, and you know it, mister.” Clovedian smiled briefly at Moonblind, his hand brushing against Moonblind’s gloved fingers. Hunter gazed over at his mother, who seemed completely unfazed by the scene unfolding in front of them. The two were blatantly flirting. It was obvious to the wolf, though he didn’t know whether or not they shared history with one another. He was about to open his mouth to question his mother, before Solaryx came up beside him, tugging at his sleeve. “Hunter, do you know what they’re going to do in the Conversion?” she questioned him curiously, her blue eyes glittering with wonder. Hunter blinked at her for a moment before curtly answering, “No. Mom-” “Do you have any idea of what they might plan on doing??” she interrupted Hunter, her tail swishing behind her. Hunter inhaled impatiently. “Y’know, yeah, I do know what they’re gonna do to you. They’re gonna take this ginormous needle and inject you with some stuff to make you a Furorian,” he answered. Of course, this was clearly a lie. He had no idea what they were actually planning to do with Solaryx, he just said it in order to keep his reputation as the “scary older brother.” Solaryx gave a squeal, her ears flicking back before she shakily answered, “N-No they won’t! You lie!” she pouted angrily at Hunter. “Oh, no, no, I’m telling you the truth,” Hunter assured her, his eyes wide. “They’ll do something like, an um, a flu shot! And then they’ll, um… they’ll tickle the Furorian out of you!” he lied, wiggling his clawed fingers at the fox tauntingly. “No!” she squealed fearfully as her brother approached her, swatting at his hands. “Now I don’t wanna get my Conversion done!” The bleached fox continued swatting and waving away her brother’s hands. Moonblind briefly glanced back at the two children, amused by their conversation as his tail swished calmly behind him. “Come on, Solaryx, you don’t want to fall behind, now do you?” the albino hedgehog mused with a smile, looking back at their two children. “Mama!!” Solaryx whined. “I don’t wanna get my Conversion done!” she cried, bouncing on her toe tips again. “Good luck, Sally, have fun getting your Conversion done,” Hunter taunted with a laugh. “You gotta have it done today, no buts about it,” the wolf continued, pulling his sister along, walking ahead of his mother, still following his father and Moonblind. Their mother gave the two of them odd looks but ultimately shrugged it off, following them.
