ok so um before i start i dont mean any hate while I am mad im not trying to hate on people. im sure these people are amazing individuals but this is just me getting frustrated and my opinion. okok Ik most of you have heard of the rant about comedy/trending animators getting like 50000 views with a 2 second powerpoint slide, and while this rant is kind of about that its mainly about what they are doing now. Since fanta (@incognitoorange, who is banned i think now) made his part for monster, it caught the attention of all the other trending animators, because fanta was a comedy animator (he has made some map parts in the past, and he is actually good at animation, so this doesn't apply to him). That caused a ton of the trending animators to convert to semi-amv makers. This was good and bad, we got new members of the community, but it was also bad because a ton of the trending animators started to get really big heads about their level, I started to see some of them rant in their descriptions about how smooth their amvs were and then asking for follows while the amv was C tier at best. This kind of ticked me off, but it wasn't that bad at the time. Then it got worse. Cy made his Mr sunshine amv (btw he wasn't the first to use the song, @merlock- was, but cy didn't get it from him) and it got a lot of attention. Of course it did, it was probably one of the best amvs on the site, but the impact it made wasn't great. It started the Mr sunshine trend. The trend wasn't that bad, even when it took off after @bagelstudios made his remake. Imo after I made an amv in this trend, which I regret doing, it got bad because fanta remixed it which got it a ton of attention with the trending animators again (im not hating on fanta still) . Tbh this is when amvs became less fun. It didn't seem like a community anymore, because all these people were taking it over with almost no skill doing it, but still getting tons of views. I know this is just me being salty, but I'm sure some people agree with me. One good thing about this though is that cy is now super famous, a lot more than he was before. He's getting the same amount of attention as the trending animators, which is great because he deserves it. Back when I made my first amv in December of 2021 (deleted, other account, and barely classified as an amv), scratch was fun. I made this account in march of 2022, and I discovered a community. It was super fun to talk to people who were amazing. March - September was super fun, I made new friends, and it was just the perfect time to be in the community (besides like 2020 lol). Starting in October, it slowly stopped being fun. And now in January, I have almost no desire to make amvs anymore. I still will make them, and I still do find them fun to make, if only just a little. But I still get that feeling that something's changed. I know things change, but I still wish they didn't. I do believe that the reason of this is because of what I stated before. The trending animators making amvs. It just isn't fun anymore now.
