Play on Turbowarp, it is REQUIRED, not recommended. https://turbowarp.org/794925939 (sorry school chromebook users ;-;) Click 7 plants to use during the level, and press READY to start the game. (Pressing RESET will allow you to pick different plants, and Edit Lanes is explained if you scroll down in the Notes and Credits) Plays like a hybrid of Mobile PVZ 1 and PVZ 2. Drag and drop plants to spaces on the grid if you have enough sun, and remove plants by using the shovel on them. WIP Tools: Hold "- (MINUS)" to generate sun, this feature is only for testing purposes Press "K" to cycle between Zombie types for the Zombotron Summoner (The zombie choice starts as a Basic zombie, pressing K once will change it to a Conehead, then a Buckethead, etc.) Press "L" to summon the selected zombie in a random lane (you can't pick a lane to summon the zombie in yet!) Press "O" to show the HP of all of your Plants Press "P" to show the HP of all of the Zombies Currently Functioning Plants: Sunflower Peashooter Repeater Wall Nut Mostly Functioning/Inconsistent Plants: Snowpea (sometimes freezes multiple zombies with one shot, mainly caused by zombies grouping up when attacking a Wall Nut) Squash (may jump in the wrong direction if placed directly on top of a zombie or placed between two zombies) Cherry Bomb (occasionally teleports to the wrong space when placed) Potato Mine (may activate early due to the Flag Zombie's hitbox) Spikeweed (usually works fine with a low amount of plants, but glitches out when there are too many plants shooting at the same time) Glitched Plants: Chomper (MAJOR bug where it will flash invisible for a split second if there is a zombie touching it in a different lane, I currently have no way to fix this. It can also hit multiple zombies with one bite, and occasionally it just decides not to chew a zombie when it eats them, I have no idea how to fix this.) Zombies: Basic Zombie (Simple Zombie with 500 health, can be defeated with a singular Peashooter from a good distance away) Conehead (Stronger Zombie with 1000 health, may take two Peashooters or a Repeater to defeat. Turns into a Basic Zombie after reaching 500 health) Buckethead (Tanky Zombie with 1500 health, will take three Peashooters to defeat. Turns into a Basic Zombie after reaching 500 health) Plank Zombie (Functions like a hybrid of Screen Door Zombie and Newspaper Zombie, apparently that was his favorite plank! Moves half as fast as a Basic Zombie, but has the health of a Conehead, until his plank is broken. Note: Instakill plants like Chomper may not work on him, as it takes one hit to break his plank, and another hit to actually kill the Zombie) Angry Plank Zombie (Better have some Snow Peas to cool this guy down! Has the HP of a Basic Zombie, but is twice as fast and twice as strong) Flag Zombie (Signals the start of an incoming wave of zombies! Just a Basic Zombie, but with a cool flag!) Speedster (A lightning-quick Zombie four times faster than a Basic, and has 250 HP. Intended for quickly testing out the Lawnmowers while working on the game, so it currently has no custom sprites, it's just a faster and weaker Angry Plank Zombie) (Pole) Vaulter Zombie (Quick and athletic Zombie that jumps over the first plant he runs into, why eat through a Wall Nut when you can jump over it! Has the stats of a Basic zombie after its Vault is used, significantly slowing down, but its Vault can go straight over your defenses and quickly eat a back-row Plant!
A Scratch "recreation" of Plants Vs Zombies, 4 months in the making, (almost) completely from memory! (thanks random spoiler youtube thumbnails) This project is COMPLETELY intended for Turbowarp, it was made from scratch (haha) through Turbowarp's engine and uses Turbowarp's custom resolution (the game is SUPPOSED to be in Widescreen). Literally the ONLY reason I'm posting this on scratch at all is so I can give you a link to the Turbowarp version. https://turbowarp.org/794925939 All I need to add is some music and sound effects, and the project should be ready! (Update: I added the music and sound effects, and it DEFINITELY boosted the game's playability. All sound effects and music are directly from Plants Vs. Zombies 1!) Update 3/21/23: Fixed Potato Mine's detection radius Attempted (and failed) to fix the invisible Chomper thing Fixed bug where the Victory collectible would spawn if a summoned zombie is killed before the first Wave zombie appears Fixed issue where all sun is reset to 0 after the "READY SET PLANT!" screen (HOPEFULLY) fixed issue where Sun would teleport to the coordinates (0, 0) if two or more sunflowers produced sun at the exact same frame Made the Grid hitboxes a bit smaller Fixed Chomper not detecting Zombies at all Made Potato Mine's animations faster Randomized the direction a Zombie falls in after they are defeated by Generic damage Made the last wave summon Zombies slightly faster Adjusted falling Sun, falling Sun appears at a slower rate the longer the game lasts, just like PvZ Update 5/3/23: Fixed Snowpea ice shots being fired by Regular Peashooters/Repeaters in other lanes if you had multiple Peashooters shooting at the exact same time, it was a pretty fun bug but it needed to be patched out for game balance. Made the zombie spawn rate start off slower, but eventually speed up significantly during the last waves Plan to add: Sound, Music, a fix for the Invisible Chomper, and a Wave Tracker. UPDATE 5/10/23: Added a TON of sound effects and music, now the game should be MUCH more lively to play. Fixed the Shovel's jankiness, and made it easier to tell what plant will be removed when holding the shovel Improved the Ghost effect on the Plant Cards, should be easier to tell when a plant's cooldown ends now. Fixed the Lawnmower detection, before Zombies could simply walk over them without triggering them to clear the lane Added a WORKING failure condition, finally fixed the bug where a zombie would infinitely trigger the "THE ZOMBIES ATE YOUR BRAINS" screen, preventing it from fully completing and stopping the project Made the Zombies actually spawn offscreen like they are supposed to Nerfed the range that Chomper could attack from, and decreased its chewing speed to be more accurate to PVZ 1 UPDATE 5/11/23 Made the Seed Slots look more accurate to Mobile PVZ 1, with a larger portrait of the plant and a small Sun count in the bottom right Added the Pole Vaulter zombie! Added a new thumbnail Changed Chomper's sun cost from 175 Sun to 150 Sun, like in PVZ 1 Slightly buffed the Repeater's strength UPDATE 5/12/23 Changed the thumbnail Added a proper death animation for Pole Vaulter Zombie Made the Zombie's script less of an eyesore to look at (custom blocks are great) Fixed some bugs Nerfed Peashooter and repeater, slightly buffed Snowpea. UPDATE 5/17/23 Made the game start you off with 50 Sun, similar to later levels in PVZ 1. Added an easier first level between Memory Lane - 1 (the level from older updates) Added a level system (complete level 1 to play level 2!) Added a Work In Progress Squash plant UPDATE 5/19/23 Reduced the recharge speed of Chomper and Wall Nut significantly Increased the recharge speed of Sunflower Plants now have to fully recharge when the round starts, a bit inconvenient for game testing but it should balance out the first minute of gameplay a bit more and is more accurate to PVZ 1. Separated the Damagers for Instant Plants and Rapid Plants into two different sprites (for example, Cherry Bomb and Repeater's damage hitboxes), this should fix some weird issues with damage inconsistency with Instas (such as a Cherry Bomb doing no damage randomly or a Pea instakilling anything it touches) Added a Zombie Team viewer during the Plant Select, now you can know what Zombies are going to appear during the level similar to PVZ. Added some animation to Squash. EDIT LANES EXPLAINED: Added the ability to switch from the "From Memory: 6 LANES" style of PVZ board, or the "PVZ Accurate: 5 LANES" style of PVZ board. (More details: Click the Edit Lanes button and input either a 5 or a 6 for either a 5 or 6 lane board. After inputting a number, press Enter (or click/tap the checkmark on the text input box), then press the Green Flag to apply the changes.)
