Heat and dehydration can very much kill someone, and often results in a slow and painful death. Heat can cause the affected person to hallucinate and pass out. If left in a hot and dry place such as a desert without food and water for a long enough time very much kills you. If an animal isn't physically developed to go long periods without water, such as house cats (especially long-haired) they can easily overheat. Please keep your pets inside or keep an eye on them.
'The she-cat felt like she was melting. She had been living in the desert for months now, but never like this. Everything was blurring together, was it night or day? No it must be day, night wasn't this hot. She hadn't even seen water in what felt like months.'
