Press the green flag to see the original. Click the stage to see my entry. Press space to change the music (music probably has nothing 2 do w/project, but I like it and felt the need to add at least 5 songs) The design of the "cat" is inspired by someone else, but I forgot who and I can't find the project. I had my little version of the original cat design and... yeah this is all I got to make since I didn't have much time, I made this yesterday. (1/30/2023) Posted on: (1/31/2023) Aqufer: Pronounced somewhere along the lines of (ack-oo-fer) maybe? or (ack-oo-fe-r) Not sure if that helps. Backstory: Aqufer wasn't always like this. Aqufer wasn't even his name, but now he sits looking at the sky, only his mind wanting to remember who he was, and what happened. Aqufer used to be a regular cat, who'd sometimes accompany his owner on walks. One of the owner's favorite places to go was to a little bench that sat high on top of a mountain, and Aqufer would stay far from the edge. But the trail was narrow. If he'd fall, he would fall off the cliff and straight into the powerful ocean below with no hope of escaping the sea's powerful waves and currents.
One day, the owner stayed at the bench a bit longer than usual and Aqufer began to worry. In the distance grey clouds gathered, promising a storm soon enough. Aqufer waited for a bit but upon seeing the clouds come closer, he began to pull on the pant leg of his owner to get their attention. When the owner saw the clouds, they calmly stood up and began to descend the mountain. Aqufer stayed close, but before they got halfway down, the storm hit. Rain was pouring down, getting him and his owner drenched. Lightning flashed before their very eyes it seemed, and the thunder could be heard for several minutes. There was a strong wind, and it threw twigs, leaves, and other small debris at them. Soon enough it became too hard to see or walk. The owner tripped spraining their foot, and Aqufer tried to help them. But, the owner grew tired and they sat down beneath a tree, while Aqufer paced. It was then when he wasn't protecting himself that a branch came hurling itself, propelled by the wind, and hit Aqufer on the head. Aqufer didn't go unconscious, not right away, but instead grew dizzy. He tried to walk back to his owner, tried to walk in a straight line. But because of the wind, he veered off the narrow trail and fell. When he hit the water he went unconscious. But when he woke up, he wasn't himself. When he woke up he was in an elegant room, with a strange blanket-like thing wrapped around him. He couldn't remember anything, but he felt like it didn't matter. He felt as if nothing mattered. But then a boy appeared before him, he was surprised and knew not when he entered. The boy looked at him with grey eyes gleaming with curiosity. Aqufer stretched out his paw and gently batted his hair. "What a beautiful spirit you are," the boy said, and just then Aqufer realized that what used to be his pelt matched the dark sky of the night, and he noticed that he was no longer himself. "perhaps this will cover up that hole," the boy said holding up a golden earring. Aqufer noticed that the earring had a sharp end, and when he saw that the boy was going to put it in his ear, he tried to escape. But he got tangled in the blanket-like thing. The boy laughed and passed the earring through his ear, where there should've been flesh. Rather shocked, he shook his head wondering why it didn't hurt, but as the boy petted his head, his worries melted away and he forgot all about it. Now, he comes and goes from the prince's room, whenever he wants, but spends most of his time sitting on shore looking up at the stars, only his mind trying to figure out what happened. But his instincts keep driving him away from his goal, filling his head with ideas of going back to the castle to play with the prince.
