Jaywhistle is Treasurepaw's mentor! Here's a guide onto how Treasurepaw will be taught. Going into this apprenticeship, Jaywhistle will have the mindset of "My only job is to teach you." Will Treausrepaw be able to befriend the stern warrior or be consumed in the strict teachings of Jaywhistle, her new mentor? --- ⋆.ೃ . Moon One . ⋆.ೃ ⤷ Jaywhistle will begin by teaching the required manners and rules while in her presence. She will also explain the level of respect and attentiveness she expects from the young cat. Jaywhistle will then describe in detail what a mentor is, what an apprentice is, the things she'll be taught, and a basic understanding of what's going on. After Treasurepaw understands all of this Jaywhistle will then proceed to go over the apprentice course. She will briefly describe what Treasurepaw will be learning. Jaywhistle will go over the chores and duties expected of Treasurepaw and the discipline Jaywhistle will put her through. In order to be a well rounded warrior, Jaywhistle believes one must be humble, intelligent, and extremely disciplined in order to achieve that accomplishment. For example, instead of the usual chores an apprentice must do, Jaywhistle will make Treausrepaw do five times that. Instead of helping the elders once and awhile, Jaywhistle will make Treasurepaw have designated days to spend one whole 24 hour session with the elders. Jaywhistle will show Treasurepaw around RiverClan camp to make sure they know where everything is before moving onto the other territories. ⋆。˚ . Moon Two . ⋆。˚ ⤷ Jaywhistle will give Treasurepaw a full tour of the clan borders, and territories. After a few days of showing her around, Jaywhistle will quiz her apprentice to see if she can find her way around. If she doesn't pass, Jaywhistle will do an extended focusing lesson and recall practice in order to make sure her memorization skills are intact. If Treasurepaw passes, Jaywhistle will begin her first history lesson. She will mainly talk about the clans, with a few more details about RiverClan. She will then thoroughly quiz her on the material. Jaywhistle believes having a good knowledge of history helps make a warrior better overall. After Jaywhistle is sure Treasurepaw has a grasp on the territories and clan history she will begin with sneaking tactics. Jaywhistle has an exceptional tactic of walking on sand, and she will try to pass that down to her apprentice. After a few examples she will see if Treasurepaw can barely sink in the sand and walk smoothy over it. If she can, then Jaywhistle will see if her apprentice can run sneakily on the sand. By that point if Treasurepaw can do that, Jaywhistle will be quite impressed. As Treasurepaw is doing this she is still expected to have her days with the elders and carry out her expected chores. . ' ♬ . Moon Three . ♬ ' . ⤷ Jaywhistle will now begin teaching Treasurepaw hunting techniques. She will introduce her to the vast array of prey in the territories along with the different hunting styles needed in order to catch them. Jaywhistle will start with the easy prey first, demonstrating and asking Treasurepaw to try and catch it. Once Treasurepaw masters catching prey, she will move up to a harder animal. After Treasurepaw had mastered all types of prey, Jaywhistle will inform her about predators, dangers and making sure she has common sense. Jaywhistle will throughly quiz Treasurepaw on this, as staying safe is important. Since battle training, intellect building, and swimming will begin next moon, Jaywhistle will give Treasurepaw a small break here because she understands her apprentice will still need to have fun. During this period Treasurepaw will be slacked off her expected chores. As well as this, this time will be open to any questions Treasurepaw might have. Jaywhistle is open to talk about Treasurepaw's crushes in telling her that there is no need for a relationship so soon. . ♞♜ . Moon Four . ♞♜ . ⤷ This is one of the most intense moons. As soon as this moon hits, the expected chores start right back up again, maybe even adding one more. Self-discipline is more important than ever, and Jaywhistle expects nothing but excellence. She will rapidly quiz Treasurepaw on Clan history and the territories to make sure she remembers. As well as reviewing that, she will constantly review hunting skills, techniques, and knowledge as she will test her with certain types of prey. Now, Jaywhistle will introduce fighting and battle techniques. She will start by addressing emotional matters. The fighting style will be different depending on which demeanor the cat has that Treasurepaw is fighting. More emotional cats should be approached differently than angry, calm, or aggressive cats. Jaywhistle will teach that fighting is usually not the answer and a last resort; which should only be used as self defense. She will teach Treasurepaw a humane approach to fighting, not aggressively tearing at the flesh, but nearly pinning the (+)
(+) cat to the ground or swiftly kicking the cat until they calm down. Jaywhistle will also build Treasurepaw's intellect by teaching her as much as possible. As well as this, she will teach casual talking techniques if stuck in a socially awkward position. She will teach Treasurepaw how to get herself out of a dangerous situation before it becomes deadly. Jaywhistle will begin swimming techniques. It seems strange in a desert, but what if Treasurepaw falls into a watering hole? She will begin by taking her apprentice to a watering hole and showing her the paddling technique. She will then push Treasurepaw into the hole. If she struggles she will pull her out, and show her the paddling technique again. This process repeats until Treasurepaw has grasped the concept of swimming. They will have a joint lesson with Bloomfaith and her apprentice. . ' ☮ . Moon Five . ☯ ' . ⤷ This moon will be calmer, and the chore intensity level will go down. At this point Treasurepaw will have little to no chores and a lot of free time. Jaywhistle will still quiz her over the topics she had learned so far, but she is very much laid back about it. Jaywhistle will show Treasurepaw beautiful places in the desert and go picking wild flowers with her. Jaywhistle will then teach her the art of the flower crown, and make one for Treasurepaw. Then Treasurepaw will make one for Jaywhistle. Jaywhistle will teach Treasurepaw the act of living in the moment and appreciating little things. She reminds her to ignore the past, as there is no way of changing that, and focus on the present. . ✄ ' Moon Six ' ♕ . ⤷ Jaywhistle will lower the chore duty to almost nothing as their final days conclude. She will review with Treasurepaw everything she's taught her. For their final lesson they will pick more wild flowers and throw them into the watering hole. They will then have a sort of "pool party" to celebrate all the fun times they'd had. Jaywhistle will tell Treasurepaw that they should meet up at the watering hole once a week to talk, even when she becomes a warrior. Jaywhistle would not like this relationship to be forgotten, and Jaywhistle will always be checking up on Treasurepaw. . ✂ . ' ☁ ' . ☂ . ' .
