hi :) welcome to the random writing i do on this google doc, part 1. i just wanted to pull together the themes of young love, the world ending and that one scene everyone has in their head, of the couple on the roof, watching the world end together, fully content with each other's company. the writing: they sat against the crumbling wall one last time, heads resting back as the music filled the room. she let out a sigh, and tucked her legs to her chest, her hair tumbling over her shoulders as she took the time to reflect. he watched, mesmerized by his sweetheart. though he would admit it time and time again, and though she would forever be unable to accept it, the truth was that they were both, truly in love. he would forever hold on to the gifts they exchanged, the kisses upon foreheads and tear stained cheeks. she would always cherish the moments they'd spent together. the dances in the rain as the sky thundered and lit up, illuminating their wet faces, eyes full of true wonder. the secrets they had told each other, the trust they held in each other's hearts and the love they shared. the moments they cherished, sitting in silence, the record player in the corner of the room. the occasional glances at each other, the corners of her lips slightly turning up as their eyes locked. the way that emotion filled his chest when she looked at him in such a way that could only provoke feelings of true adornment. she really was, all he needed in this life. he knew they'd meet again, as the connection their souls shared was beyond simple, shallow love. the flames of passion which heated his face when they danced, and the quality of the time they spent together was more than enough for him, though he knew there’d be more after their eventual end. he slowly stood up, leaning against the wall and tracing a finger along the fading graffiti. he held out a coarse hand to her, which she took, and stood up. she looked up at him with a smile and allowed him to take her to the roof of the unstable structure. the mellow light from the setting sun filtered through her lashes as she held his hand, and they sat, legs hanging off the edge just as they always were, in their moments shared here. he pulled her close to him. she leaned against his stable frame as tears began to run down her face. he held her in his arms, every inch of his being begging him to comfort her, yet he was still unable to as he shook. he held her face, tilting it up to him and staring into those eyes which had drawn him in, and given him so much adoration. she stared up at him, looking into the eyes of someone who she truly trusted. though these were their last moments together, it felt as though it would last forever. the rain began to pelt down as he breathed deeply. “though the world is ending, i will always love you”
