During this time, the sun is reflecting light into the sky from below the horizon. It isn’t quite day or night, it’s the time in between. Being outside during this time feels so magical! This is the place to make projects inspired by this time of day :) ✦ QOTW: Have you ever watched a movie or read a book related to twilight? (@ TheWeirdAyii's question) ✦ ✧ Ideas ✧ Make a project explaining the 3 types of twilight Draw/paint a landscape under a twilight sky Make a character based on this time of day Make an animation of the sky from night to sunrise or sunset to night And many more! ✧ Adding Projects ✧ If you want to add a related project, post it in the comments and a curator will add it! Please know that we will only add projects that follow the theme of this studio. ✧ More Info About Twilight ✧ There are 3 kinds of twilight: civil twilight, nautical twilight, and astronomical twilight (The thumbnail of this studio represents this). Civil twilight is when the sun is between 0 and 6 degrees below the horizon. The sky during this time still has a lot of light, and you only see the brightest stars and planets. In nautical twilight, the sun is between 6 and 12 degrees below the horizon. It’s called “nautical twilight” because sailors can make good star readings while being able to see both important stars and the horizon. It is darker than civil twilight but brighter than astronomical twilight. During astronomical twilight, very little light is being reflected into the sky. It’s when the sun is between 12 and 18 degrees below the horizon. Most people would think it’s completely night at this time. You can see most stars and planets if there isn’t any light pollution, but it needs to be completely dark (sun 18 degrees below the horizon) to see galaxies and nebulas.
