She dumps a pile of blankets and pillows on the couch next to him, making him jump. He tilts his head questioningly. Taking advantage of his moment of distraction, she swipes the remote from his hand. He pouts. She laughs. They walk over, drawn by the sound of laughter, and is treated to the image of her standing on the couch while he tries to get the remote back. They pluck the remote out of her hand and put on a playlist of music. They set down the remote and motion at her to grab the blankets and for him to grab the pillows. They set to work. Inside the blanket fort, three bodies were cuddling, fast asleep, movie still playing in the background. There were stuffed animals, flashlights, and bowls of half eaten popcorn scattered around. Someone walks into the room, tidying the space, turning of the movie, and covering all of them with blankets. They take a picture, turn off the lights, and leave. It was quiet.
