Introducing….. my three stringed instruments haha. If you didn’t know, I’m a bit of a music nerd, and come here today with pics of my three instruments. It’s my seventh year playing violin, and first year playing guitar- but on to the pics… 1. A lineup of all my instruments (and my bow lol) 2. The newest addition to the trio, she has yet to be named, but as soon as I saw her in the shop I knew that was the one I’d be buying lol 3. Dubbed ‘Bones’ this guys been around for a while, I got him from my grandma and got him fixed up- it’s a vintage guitar around 50 years old, a Dorado 6028 Nylon with a rosewood back and fretboard. 4. A better picture of the previous guitar- to show the different tones of purple with different lighting cuz it’s hard to see in some photos- oh yeah and my tiny lil Fender Frontman 10G Amp. 5. Differences between the electric guitar and Bones’ fretboards and strings. 6. Sir Squeaks-A-Lot, a 4/4 Samuel Eastman VL80 and my brazilwood bow. Had this guy since the beginning of middle school- recently got him restringed and a new bow Facts: If you didn’t know, Bones is a nylon guitar (also known as a classical or Spanish guitar) which is different than an acoustic or flamenco guitar. He’s got 19 frets and a tendency to buzz on the 13th and 10th. As with I think all wooden instruments, the older the wood, the better the tone it produces- this is why vintage guitars are desired by people (if you can find one in good enough condition). Bones also has a rosewood back and fretboard, which is a wood that was famously used in guitars as a ‘superior’ wood, but due to trafficking and supply issues, is no longer used in guitars today. Nylon guitars aren’t used as commonly as other guitars such as acoustic and electric, probably due to being quite a bit quieter than acoustics, but you can find them in songs like the intro to The Unforgiven by Metallica. They have a different body shape than acoustics, and a different type of strings (if you put acoustic strings on a nylon guitar it would snap in half from the pressure!) they also have different tuning pegs and such. I guess this kind of turned into me just ranting about Bones and how old he is, but oh well haha. Tell me if you actually read all the way down here you nerd
