Rio Grande 315 is a C-18 2-8-0 “Consolidation” type locomotive built in 1895 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. It ran on the Florence Cripple Creek Railroad as number 3 until 1917 when the Denver & Rio Grande purchased it and renumbered it 425. When the D&RG was reorganized to the D&RGW, it was renumbered to 315, the number it has today. It operate until 1949 when it was sold to Warner Bros and was seen in the movie Aorund the World In 80 Days. It was then put on display at a park in Durango, Colorado until it was restored by the Durango Railroad Historical Society in 2007. It operated on the Durango and Silverton and Cumbres and Toltec including the iron horse roundup, until September 2021 for a boiler inspection. It then returned to service on March 8, 2023.
