Also Known As: Good Grief, What Is WITH Me And Computers? First up: I fully expect that four months of utter silence, with no warning and no explanation at all, has completely alienated all my friends. My most recent message is two months old, seeming to confirm this. Therefore I'm unsure who's going to read this, if anyone, but still. For anyone who still cares, here it is. Also, if you've assumed I quit without warning and moved on, nobody is blaming you, least of all myself. I heartily apologise for any confusion or bewilderment this has caused, even though it wasn't really my fault. Second, the beautiful art on the thumbnail is by @superstilwell. It was an art prize I only just saw now I'm back. Not long after I got my computer back, the screen died permanently. We tried to wake it up, but no. Recharging it led to it overheating repeatedly until I finally unplugged it and managed to shut it down (the screen still being broken, and my power button temperamental.*) So I went the entire summer with no laptop on which I could do whatever I wanted. And tbh, this was probably for the best; my exams would have gone a lot worse if I'd had access to Scratch in the weeks leading up to them. Now, we used to have this family computer lying around that was pretty old, but had word processors and stuff and so would have done for schoolwork. The word 'had' is a bit of a spoiler here; although we'd bought a new battery for it, the thing refused to charge but stayed on 0%. Usable but with awful performance on cord. The tech people who'd previously doomed my old laptop (RIP) declared that it had Ceased To Be And Gone To Join The Choir Invisible. So finally, I got a brand new computer. It's more portable, has a keyboard layout that doesn't completely throw off my muscle memory, and all that. It also doesn't have a stylus, so I'm going to see if I can salvage my old one before reviving the art part of this account. Now for the bad news: I'm going to have a lot of schoolwork this year. I find it hard enough to do it even without the internet's many distractions. Therefore, I am going to be leaving Scratch for real in May at latest. Probably 30 April. I'll try to get The Server e1 done in this time, but have several other things I also want to finish. Thanks for coming back to read this after all this time! *That was a rather nice zeugma I worked in. Don't know if anyone noticed.
