Please note that there were many groups of escapees; we're just focusing on the most recognized one who also when individually viewed, covers the most information. Sorry that we didn't cover all the camps. They had very similar routines and would be very time consuming to do. This animation is intended to be somewhat comedic ans especially the speech which is not at all accurate. If it has quotation marks then it is a direct quote. All event in the animation are true however they have been demonstrated here with less maturity for the sake of simplicity. There aren't many quotes to start with, we used whatever was applicable and available to the animation. Sorry for lack of primary sources (other than images) The Images aren't accurate unless there is a caption. Major thanks to google images by the way and the book for quotes and the story. This project wad made with Mark and Noah (my classmates) https://www.chosic.com/download-audio/45468/ and Mission Impossible for the background music https://www.zapsplat.com/sound-effect-category/ for sound affects. The book (online excerpts) also gave us several images that are captioned. If you are having trouble understanding, what is happening here is Blain, a 19 year old fighter pilot, is flying a Sopwith British Plain 20 miles from France with his mechanic Griffin (he does not play an important role in the escape). They crash and are captured in a German prison camp. He tries to escape with other pilots he met, Kennard and Gray (AKA father of the tunnel), however Gray moves to another camp and Allouche, a french pilot snitches on them so that all the escape materials were disposed. In revenge for filing their escape plan, a few British officers drop foul things on Allouche while he is sleeping. After, a cycle of switching camps, trying to escape, getting caught, suffering punishment continues until most escapists go to Holzminden, commanded under Niemeyer, where some broken groups reunite. Gray, Kennard, and Blain meet with eachother and form a tunnel escape taking 9 months to make. After this, they escape through it and into the Dutch Border with clever disguises and will forever be remembered heroes.
