BACKSTORY_______________ Coalkit was born to his mother, Tawnybelly and his parent Rockdust, along with his brother Fallenkit and his brother Soulkit. His relationship with Fallenkit was going badly, he was bullied by Fallenkit. His relationship with Soulkit was alright, he sometimes played with Soulkit. Tawnybelly was too controlling, while Rockdust was uninvolved. Coalkit was very close with Tawnybelly and never bonded much with Rockdust. He first really talked to Ripplepaw shortly before he became an apprentice himself. They never interacted in the nursery due to how antisocial Ripplepaw happened to be. Coalkit wanted to help bring him out of his shell, so Coalkit went ahead and introduced himself as Ripplepaws first friend. Every time he was alone, Coalkit would slide in and start conversations with him. They enjoyed each other's company and became very close. During his kithood, Coalkits favorite activity was practicing his fighting moves. Coalkit reached the age of an apprentice and became Coalpaw. He received Milkrun as his mentor. She was sympathetic but somewhat ignored Coalpaw. Milkrun mostly focused on fishing while neglecting running. Coalpaw and Ripplepaw grew even closer during their apprenticeship, hanging out much more often than when they were kits. When Coalpaw was 7 moons old, Tawnybelly got ill. She slowly deteriorated over the course of the moon, suffering from pain that the medicine cat couldn't fix. Unfortunately, she succumbed to the illness and died. Growing up, Coalpaw felt the loss strongly and often wished that she was alive. Coalpaw was only 7 moons old when Rockdust was run over by a monster. He missed Rockdust but coped well.
