TURBOWARP HIGHLY RECOMMENDED https://turbowarp.org/806070380 Welcome to Planetary Stroll, where you can explore thousands of simulated planets and stars across a vast universe, all within Scratch! Each planet has it's own atmosphere, and it spins, simulating a day/night cycle. I made this simulation for fun; It's not much of a game, just something to play around in. w/s - accelerate forwards and backwards a/d - rotate character left and right q/e - rotate camera left and right r - toggles between atmosphere view and SOI (sphere of influence view). Atmosphere view allows you to see each planet's atmosphere, and SOI view allows you to see the range and power of each planet's gravity. scroll - zoom in and out (If you zoom out far enough, you enter map view!) Although the project only allows you to change the world size and amount of planets, many more variables can be changed such as planet size, gravity, etc. simply by changing the values of the pick random blocks in the [MAIN --- Create Random Planets: AMOUNT] custom block on the far right. Have fun! There is a very limited number of planet costumes; I encourage you to remix this project and add a lot more, cuz that would be cool. Pro Tip: Your camera will automatically align to the planet/star you are currently on if you stay on it for long enough. Pro Tip #2: it is possible to enter a stable orbit around a planet/star if you try hard enough
Inspired by @Thebenjiball 's project, "MOONWALK" https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/775596408/ The entire game is contained in a single sprite, which only has around 1,000 blocks! This is one of my most technically impressive projects yet, as I had to program my own rendering and collision system, and use a lot of complex math. The game uses a LOD (level of detail) system, so the farther you zoom out planets will be rendered at a lower quality, improving performance. All code, art, and music was created by me. I won't upload any more scratch projects in the foreseeable future; I am now learning C# and Lua to create big kid games. Thanks to the Scratch Addons team for their amazing extension, I used a lot of their tools to help create this project (especially the darkmode editor)
