I decided I needed to leave right away to find Smoke. He was somewhere out there. Looking for me. I didn't have the time to say goodbye to Vixen. She was still asleep. I didn't want to wake her up. The forest was still and quiet. It scared me a bit. My paws kept moving until I found the spot where I had found my brother's scent. Smoke's scent was in an open clearing with trees surrounding it. I sniffed around trying to see where it led. Once I picked up his scent, I followed it. It led deeper into the forest. I ended up at the side of some heard black dirt. It seemed to go on forever. There weren't any signs of cars. I ran across as fast as I could. On the other side, there were big, tall buildings towering ver the whole town. I could tell other cats had been here. My brother's scent was still here. I followed it up to an old raggedy abandoned shelter. I realized it was where Smoke has found me when I was weak and broken down. His scent was recent, so that was good. "Smoke! Smoke! Are you there?" I yelled as I entered the shelter. No answer. I waited a few seconds and looked around the place. "Hi there. Are you lost?" I almost left my skin. I jumped and spun around. There was a pretty gray she-cat with bright blue eyes in front of me. "Wow. Your eyes." she said. I looked away. "Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend you." she apoligized. "It's ok. I get that a lot." I responded. "Who are you?" I asked. "Sorry I didn't introduce myself. I'm Frost. I live a little ways from here. What's your name?" "Berry. But that doesn't matter. Have you by any chance seen a gray tom with green eyes? Tall? His name is Smoke. He's my brother and I'm trying to find him." I asked. Frost thought for a second. "I think I may have. I think I saw him at our meeting the other day. He said something about. Wish took him away. I don't know where he is. Sorry." "Wait what? He said something about me? Who's Wish. What do you mean taken away?" I asked bombarding Frost with questions. "Come in here." she pointed to a softer looking spot. "I'll explain." End of Chapter 10!
