Space for next slide <3 ♛ About The Project ♛ This is just a short project which has photos from my school art book! This has artwork from this year of school, as well as a few from last year mixed in as well. It also has some paintings by me as well. I hope you enjoy it and I hope that you can give me feedback on how to improve. Sorry there's not explanations for every piece of art, I couldn't fir them in, but if you have any questions about them, please ask! Google Images for the thumbnail image <3
1. Henry Moore Study ❤ This was a study that we did a couple of weeks ago, and it is about the artist Henry Moore. His work is quite abstract, so I thought I would choose him (as we had three other authors to choose from) as that is not my usual style. I thought the piece of work looked like some empty chicken carcasses, but please tell me if you have a different answer! 2. Monster Bear Unicorn Octopus ❤ This was such a silly piece of artwork! It's where you draw the head of a monster/animal/thing, and then you fold it into three pieces and then the next person draws the body, and then it's back to you to draw the legs. I did this with my friend, Sarah, but then I added a splash of colour with the watercolours set, and a light-ish background for the contrast. 3. Four Styles Of Observational Drawing ❤ This was where we had to do an observational drawing of a natural form, and I brought in a twig from my garden! Not very interesting, I know, but we had to interpret it in four different forms. One was a blind drawing, where we had to draw it without looking, one was mark-making, and one was tone only (lots and lots of shading), and the final one was all in one line. 4. Natural Forms Mindmap ❤ This was a very short piece of artwork, if you can call it that, but it is a mindmap of our current theme in art - Natural Form. I added a watercolour background, and included fancy font for the natural form text. This took me roughly about an hour (not including the time it took for both the fineliner and watercolour to dry). This is probably the simplest and most basic piece of art on here. 5. Observational Drawing: Mannequin ❤ This is an old observational drawing from Year Seven. The Polaroid is a picture of a mannequin I had when I was studying Fashion in my junior school, so I thought it would be perfect for this piece of work, in which the objective was to do an observational drawing that's old but still has sentimental value to you in it. This is my best piece of work that I did in Year Seven, I guess. 6. Colour Wheel ❤ This is a very old piece of work! I made this right at the start of Year Seven, when we were doing the Introduction To Art unit, and we had to draw the Colour Wheel. This one's pretty much self explanatory, with Primary colours on the inside segments, and secondary colours on the outer circle. I also included swatches of warm and cold colours, just for reference. 7. Illustration Title Page ❤ In a Cross-Cirrucular project between English and Art, I made this Title Page which has some of the books that we had been reading in our English lessons, including Matilda. There will be more art from this unit coming soon, I promise, but everything's just on loose scraps of paper which float around in my art book, so it may take me a while to find them. 8. Liza Hurst Study ❤ This is incomplete, in case you were wondering, but this is a copy of a Liza Hurst drawing. I chose this piece as I think it's interesting how she includes colour, and I was hoping to do that with mine, and add watercolours, but I haven't got round to it yet! Instead, I just have a pencil drawing which I am going to develop the shape a bit more, and then use the colours to try and imitate the real pictures. 9. Pine Cone Observational Drawing ❤ This was another drawing for our topic Natural Forms. I chose to do a pine cone so I could experiment with the textures and get the 'feel' of it on the page. I'm not going to colour this one in as I like the contrast between the light and dark, and I'm really getting the tone, and it would be a shame to get rid of all of that and then paint over the top of it. 10. Autumn Leaves Fineliner/Watercolour Study ❤ This is maybe one of my favourite pieces of art! I sketched out the rough outline of the leaf, and then went over it just to make it clear. I then got a fineliner pen and drew the outline again, and then got a damp paintbrush and started to paint, A fineliner is a pen that will change colour when damp, so I brushed this out and then added some watercolour as well. 11. Mystery Painting ❤ It is a painting of a lady, but which lady? This is for my end of year exam, so I want to see if you guys can guess who she is so I can use it! I also do have a backup one, and you'll see it very soon! It took me forever to find the right colour palette to match with her hair, but now I did it, it has never been looking better (she originally had a brownish colour hair). 12. Natural Forms Final Piece ❤ For my Natural Forms Final Piece I painted a jungle (if you look closely you can see it's over a map, and the Natural Forms I painted were the flowers, grass, the waterfall, and the trees. The waterfall was the trickiest bit, as well as layering everything on top of each other, while still showing a bit, giving the illusion that you actually were peering through the jungle.
