ok i know i said i was gonna drop TCoG for a bit since the storyline's all over the place but i wanted to share this keythong concept i kinda made for @AlastorzOwls after we were talking bout them hehaeh anyway here's some info on TCoG keythongs i came up with last year: __________ Description: Keythongs are wingless creatures with the head and forelegs of an avian, the lower body and ears of a feline, and spikes along their shoulders, back, and tail. Some carry poisonous toxins in their spikes while others do not, as the ability is genetic and can be passed down. Similar to sand cats, keythongs have pads on the soles of their talons and paws that protect their feet against the intense heat and cold of the desert and help them maneuver across sand. Few keythongs within the royal family may have a rare genetic ability known as sunspikes, which allows the user’s spikes to absorb the sun’s energy and reach blazing hot temperatures. __________ Society: Many keythongs enjoy gladiatorial combat, as it is considered a display of strength and wit. Prisoners are mainly kept so they can be thrown into the Sunstrike Arena to rouse the audience; to keythongs, prisoners are seen as fun add-ons to arena fights, unlike the other prides who typically find keeping prisoners a hassle. While arena fights are widely appreciated, history and archaeology are also well liked by some keythongs. Keythongs annually celebrate the Sun Festival by feasting and hosting battle royales in the arena, those of which can last all day long; all of this is done to honor Heliodoro, the keythong spirit of the sun. Keythongs are sometimes looked down upon by griffins for their lack of wings, which is part of the reason why keythongs are usually hostile towards them. Keythongs are often stereotyped as dense and “hard-headed brutes” by the other prides. __________
