CHAPTER 1 -"Crap! I overslept!" I nearly jump out of my bed. I get dressed in less than 5 minutes and race down the stairs. My mom's in the kitchen making what looks like oatmeal? It's hard to tell with my moms 'amazing' cooking skills. "Hi honey!" My mom says in her fake sweet voice. "I was just making you some pancakes!" Not possible the pans are not even out of the cabinet. "it's OK mom, I'll just grab some food on the way to school I'm gonna be late anyway." I say not daring to sit down because I know if I do I'll be stuck at home in a argument with my dear old mother (emphasis on the old part) "Ya' know..." she starts. 'Hear we go' I think. "I slave away making you this delicious breakfast and you don't even dare eat it!?" Oh shes pissed. "No mom it's not that I just overslept and I need to get to school before I'm late." I say, calmly. "Whatever, just know you're on your own for dinner tonight I'm going on a date with a coworker." She says almost smugly, like I'm not going to survive without her. It's about time she found a date, what has been three, four years since dad left her for being homophobic? I know dad's moved on, my step mom is awesome! She's so nice at lease from what I've heard from my mom and the people who live on my dads street. The day my parents got a divorce was about the best day of my life. No seriously, it was, thats the day I finally got a break from all the arguing I hear at night and in the morning they act all sweet and kind. For gods sake if you fight over who is literally taking out the garbage maybe just 'maybe' go to couples counseling? But hey thats just me.
