instructions: click to zoom! backstory cause I like writing: Yuri trudged behind Leana down the familiar dirt road winding down to the forest. The sky was rapidly turning into a inky jet black the branches of the forest trees looked as if they were claws ready to pounce any moment. Leana led Yuri into a small opening where the girls usually hung out after school. Yuri bounced on her toes in excitement and anticipation. Leana swiftly told Yuri to meet her at the dirt road after school, she had seemed in a dangerous mood so Yuri had refrained from questioning. Suddenly Leana stopped in place, her back facing Yuri, her hands were clenched in tight fists, her nails digging into her skin. "What was it that you brought me here for?" asked Yuri gently, Leana stood frozen, Yuri didn't know if she was ever going to answer till she whipped around. Leana's dark hair swished around her, framing her cloudy expression. Her teeth were gritted as they started to speak, no more of shriek. "Do you know how ridiculous you are? Being upbeat all the time. You know the world isn't all rainbows and unicorns all the time, haven't you realized?" Leana's breathing became more shallow and her voice became louder. The shadows of the forest seemed to cling to Leana as Leana's yells fed off them. Leana went on and on, each phrase becoming more ugly than the last. Yuri could only stand there, frozen in shock, silent tears trailing down her face. notes: I think, if I'm not wrong, Ari invited me to join her DTIYS contest but I never actually got around to it cause I forgot. She pinged me today telling me that the contest had been extended :00 last minute I decided to join cause I haven't drawn in a while. SOMEHOW I was able to get this done in a day, not procrastination :OOO yeahh hope you like it! sidenote: someone (definitely not me) did not know the difference between a dmc & dtiys so only drew on character, then realized 90 minutes later when they were 'done' that they needed to draw the whole scene in their style not a character with their own made up idk theme??!! yeah ended up using my 'first' draft and adding on more to it, the og draft is inside if you want to see.
