Wasn’t satisfied with the original entry, so I rewrote it and reshared. Remus is an interesting Felnine, like all of the royal family. He had suffered the same abuse like they all did - his legs visibly show that - but he never cowered in fear and made sure to show that. He’s smart, he knows what arguing would do. So fumes in mind, uttering words so faint they could never be heard. He stayed quiet, grew into the act. Never get caught, he always drove it into his brain. But in all his silence, he planned, planned for the day of Decima’s retribution. He wouldn’t be like his foolish siblings, whose solutions were to run or hide, waiting for the cycle to continue. No, he’d end it there and now, and his rebellion was only the beginning. ———— Remus often looks back at his young self. And when he does, he’s embarrassed, because his young self used to adore Decima. Called her ‘Mother’, ignored the abuse and labelled it as love and attempted to mask the rogue thoughts of disbelief saying he was wrong. Wanted to be just like her, and he hated himself for that. He was too blind and stubborn what she really was, and it took him the loss of walking to realise that. You see, when he was young he liked to bother Decima a lot, and she never liked it. He would continue for a while until she decided, ‘Hey, why not stop coming here at all?’ And she broke his legs. How exactly, well she never had any trouble at all when luring him, and since could never bloody her paws, she hired someone to do it for her. If Remus was being honest, he would died that day. The door was locked after the deed, and it was only because a servant heard his pleas echo through the door that he saved. The servant disappeared the next day. But Decima had solved her problem, the prince locked his room and never came out for months, emerging as someone totally different, but now he was going to try to kill her. ———— Sometimes, Remus wanted to disown himself from his family. Decima was abusive, and his siblings would do nothing. It was frustrating and he disliked them for that. He showed it in his distancing, his clear avoidance and sometimes harsh remarks. In the back of his mind, his thoughts would whisper he was being just like Decima. But he wasn’t! He wasn’t actively hurting his siblings, sometimes scarring them permanently and acting like he was nothing. He was different! He was trying to get rid of the biggest threat of theirs. Anyone who said anything like that was lying… right? ———— The prince didn’t have many friends when he was young. However, there was an old maid called Ali. Remus doesn’t know what’s happened to her but it’s been a while since he saw her and the memories he has of her are faint now, nothing but dust waiting to be blown away. In the time they knew each other, he was a naive, stupid prince. On a certain day, they had a conversation. Remus didn’t like it, but Remus now understands what she meant. It happened outside and it was sunny, that much he remembers. They never talked when outside, it was an unspoken rule. But that day, Ali broke it. “Your siblings seem so different from you. They avoid from the Queen but you don’t. Why?” Remus was confused. It came out for nowhere, and he had to go think it over a few minutes before answering. “My Mother’s the best, it’s their fault they can’t see it. Everything she does is for our being.” “Even the beatings?” He paused again. “…Her ‘beating don’t have any ill intent. She does because she wants the best for us.” Ali didn’t say anything again, and they continued to enjoy the nature. ———— Today was like usual, attend to the royals, keep the castle. It was something that every staff never forgot and if they did, there were to be consequences. Yet there were bound to be interesting days. It was the palace after all. Drama or anything similar was bound to ensue. Today, it was between Prince Remus and one of his siblings. He’d changed ever since the accident, a thing noticed by all servants. The servant stared at him, pity and guilt growing in her chest. ‘Oh Butterfly, when did things go wrong…’ Ali turned the other direction before she could be seen, things were too late now. ———— Fun Facts Remus also hates the civilians because of their obliviousness to Decima. Sure, she might be a good queen, but she isn’t a good parent. Remus used to be fond of the outdoors and actively went outside. However, after the accident he kept to the castle, making up for it with a minor garden in his room.
