For the Museum Mystery RP! https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/32553858/ Setting of this round! ~Labyrinth of Lies~ A large group of people cluster in the main hall of a beautiful library, browsing among the collection of books and admiring the antique design, when suddenly all of the doors close, deliberately securing themselves shut. From the individual suites sequestered in the long, winding hallways, to the dreamy, vague hints given by the librarian who wanders the twisted maze of tunnels under the building, it soon becomes obvious that no one will be let out of the library until the evil lurking among them is expelled, or else they will be stuck among the elegant halls- forever. And once again, there seems to be a more purposeful force working behind the librarian, trying to make sure that no one makes it out. Will you be able to escape the labyrinth, or will you find that there is no one to truly trust? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Background Character~ Declan Aberworth // seems to be around 24 // male // human... Probably // Declan's most striking traits is probably his disheveled mop of vibrant auburn hair, which partially covers one eye and the tops of his ears. His eyes are a brilliant, penetrating shade of green, slightly muted by the swirls of gray in them, and appear to be rather large in his fine-boned face. His slanting brows are a bit darker than his hair, and are arched enough to greatly enhance his cool, far-off expression. His nose is long, although the bridge is narrow and straight, and his cheekbones are high and sharply defined in his lean, sensitive face. His skin is a very light shade of ivory, no doubt a result of him hardly ever venturing out of the library, and for some reason seems a bit translucent, making him seem even more unaccustomed to light. His mouth, while a bit wide, has very delicate shaping, seeming to indicate that he often slips away into his own thoughts, and curves into a surprisingly crooked, daring smile when he is amused. Although while is rather tall, standing at around 6 feet, he is crippled in one leg, causing him to be a bit stopped from leaning on his thin, gilded cane. His frame, while distinctly bony, seems to be able to move smoothly and adroitly, and he has the slim, lean hands of an artist. // Declan wears creased slacks of a nondescript chestnut color, tucked into tall, supple leather boots, which are each garnished by a thick gold buckle. Over the pants he wears a lightly wrinkled gray dress shirt, almost hidden by the soft, dark brown coat, fashioned out of some sort of threadbare material, that he keeps on at all times. It is quite obvious that he couldn't care less about the state of his clothes, as they always seem to have been thrown on in great haste. // Declan almost exclusively appears very dreamy and reflective, and it usually takes him a moment to respond to any questions which may be thrust at him. Each word which he utters is obviously thought through very carefully, and his every action is rather languid and unhurried, as if he has no true perception of time. Although it might seem as if he were simple or not all there, Declan really possesses a sharp, intelligent mind... He usually just allows himself to drift off into whatever things may capture his thoughts for a while. His tone is very soft, and he usually addresses people with unwavering, oddly outdated politeness, and may seem as unthreatening as possible to most people, unless they try to either ruin the condition of his books or try to press him for more information than he is really willing to give. Then, he becomes haughty, disarmingly sardonic, and shockingly fierce, and something about the way he tries to stop you seems almost... Inhuman. However, he will usually respond to the guests with bright attentiveness and careful interest, although he will occasionally speak of the labyrinth in strange terms, such as calling it the "draíocht domhain". If a guest could catch him wandering through the maze without him realizing that he is being watched, he may seem even more distant and mysterious than usual, navigating his way perfectly through the corridors, sometimes murmuring to himself in a language that is definitely not English. Although he may seem a bit hot-tempered and impulsive if pushed hard enough, the librarian generally seems very calm and completely controlled, a bit shy, and entirely unaware of what is going on at the library. However, if someone studied him closely enough, it would become obvious that Declan holds a darker, more intimidating side... What exactly this means, however, is uncertain. // Solitude, the library and the labyrinth underneath, books, any form of art, quietness, perfect order, unremarkable clothing, darkness // Large crowds, bright lights, technology, people disrupting his library, rushing decisions, and overbearing and demanding people // Not going to be revealed, for now // Chestnut brown
