Keira rushed across the street, trying to find a place to stay for the night, because her mother’s-well, adoptive mother’s- house was clearly out of the option. She suddenly spotted a sign saying, “Clearview Woods Free Campsite”. She bolted to the campsite, suitcase still in hand, and darted between the trees. Strangely, there was no one working at the campsite. Keira looked behind her, expecting to see the sign, but it had vanished. Now there was just trees. So many trees that it seemed like a wall. Keira looked around and saw a clearing in the middle of the trees, a meadow with light, tall grass. She walked into the clearing, accidentally slipping on a rock and tripping over her foot. “Who’s there?” A strangely familiar voice barked. Keira kept silent though. “Show yourself!” And when one of the trees grew large enough to cover the whole sky, Keira stepped out, looking around. The same girl from the prison was staring at Keira, and Keira was confused at how she got out of the prison in the first place. The girl held a makeshift… weapon. Keira couldn’t tell what that was anyway. She seemed to know who Keira was right away, and she asked, “Are you the person I think you are? The girl from the Wanted posters?” “Uhm.. /I/ don’t know who /you/ are, so I’m not going to answer that.” The girl took that as an answer and burst out laughing, telling Keira, “We’re the Shattered Rose Society, and yes, horrible name, but whatever. Any enemy of the Council is a friend to us. I’m Fern.” She held out her hand, leading Keira through the meadow. “Follow me.”
Okay, so fun fact- writing the word “Council” so many times has turned out to be so annoying, because I always accidentally write “Couch” instead of the Council. LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY COUCH!!! Oh btw the words with slashes like /this/ mean that it’s like, supposed to be, uhm, well i guess enunciated really loudly. (Enunciated means pronounced)
