(OUTDATED!!!!! ART IS BAD CHECK NEW PROJECT LOL) So, unbeknownst to all of you, I haven't finished BotW yet. In fact, I only started it in late January. Yes, you read this right. JANUARY 2023. I AM trying to finish the game before TotK comes out, though it doesn't seem that likely because I'm still on my first divine beast. (Vah Naboris - this also means the Yiga clan is gonna bother me for the rest of my playthrough.) HOWEVER, that's not what the FIRST PART OF THE DESCRIPTION IS ABOUT and so READ BELOW if you want my (Link's ig) story so far as we travel through the vast and dangerous kingdom of Hyrule. (That last part was kinda dramatic) (Also, I ran out of space. There's a continuation inside the project.) ANYWAYS, I thought Link would be really fun to draw, a week ago. I got caught up and, in the process of finding good references, read the entirety of LinkedUniverse, found a really good YouTube Zelda animator (@shar on YT, check them out), and officially started anticipating TotK and getting into Zelda. (Before I wasn't that into it, GASP HOW DARE I) So, after all that, it took me a week to finally pick up my pen and present to you... This art piece. This is my first time drawing Link, wether you think it's impressive or pathetic or legit don't care. Time taken: Approx. 3 hours Credit: Rhea (me) (irl name btw, pronounce it RAY - uh), @-codercat-12345 (me, Scratch Username I made when I was 8), Google for the crud ton references I used and for not banning me because of my random and worrying searches to get more details, Nintendo for BotW Link and quote in the drawing, Scratch for having servers and letting me post this project, People Who Make Paper for the paper, People who Make Pens for the pens (That have a brand that I don't want to write rn because it would mean MOVING) oh hey now all the projects start with "8" in the link oh wow When we get to projects starting w/ "10" I'll do a face reveal or some AMV or smth big.
My Breath of the Wild Adventures (sorry for cringe title I have no Idea what else to call it) You see, I started off the game knowing nothing about the game and wondering if I should be playing a Zelda game when I didn't know anything about the lore. I was very tenative because I hadn't yet realized that this wasn't like Mario and each Zelda was COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT. I got out of the shrine well enough, and was hit with WONDER and all that stuff as HAHAHA OPENING CUTSCENE I realize the boy at school who says BotW is the best and Minecraft sucks because the graphics sucks is correct because HOLY FLIP how did I not listen to him I meet the old man and pick up a buncha tree branches and an axe. "an axe?" I think. "I thought it would be harder to get good weapons. This one already does 3 damage! Wow!" The guy says to do a mini treasure hunt thing and I oblige, get traumatized by the shrine sound and approach all the other shrines with caution after that because I think guardians are everywhere. That sound, to be fair, is scary. I CLIMB up the tower and the Old Man reminds me that I can warp/turn into blue particles of light with an unskippable cutscene and I feel stupid. Also, what is it with warping cutscenes being unskippable for Nintendo games? Come ON, you did this for SMO too. I forget what i'm doing almost immidiatley after I do the tower and also can't figure out how to get down, so I just jump. oh wait FALL DAMAGE I DIED OH NO ONLY BAD PLAYERS PROBABLY DIE I BET MOST PEOPLE DON'T (I watch Pointcrow a day later and realize that's NOT the case) The next time, after respawining, (warping this time to the tower) I immediately accidentally fall off the tower (again) but this time I don't do it voluntarily, so at least I'm LEARNING! I finally realize there's a hole in the floor and get down, wander around for 20 minutes, die to bobkolins and then realize that I should progress the story and go to the tower to talk to the old guy After using PINS on TOWERS I see, realizing those aren't SHRINES and also realizing they're off the FREAKING PLATEU, I marvel at how big and dark blue the map is and wonder if it'll fill itself in as I get off the plateu. Then I use pins correctly, pause and wonder if people actually use pins anymore, decide I don't care, and get terrorized once again by the bomb shrine guardian. Inside the shrine, I am literally panting irl and get a TRAVELER'S CLAYMORE OMG SO MUCH 10 DMG and worry if the devs are giving me a "good" sword because there's a guardian. There isn't. The shrines take me 3 days of 20 minutes to complete, and my dad yells at me as I get stuck in the long "King Roham Bo-somethingHyrule" cutscene. How do you pronounce that name btw? Wow, Nintendo. First the shrines, now this. I GET THE PARAGLIDER FINALLY, and proceed to forget about getting a heart/stamina container and just fly off to Kakikaro - something village. I think two TINY hills are the "Dueling Peaks" and then change the camera angle and dramatically go "ohhh." Then I start sneaking, careful not to let any of the Lizafowls (or whatever they're called) notice me. (If I'm writing everything incorrectly, don't worry, I know.) I head, ON FOOT, to the village, talk to Impa who makes me legitimatley feel bad for forgetting about her (kind of like when I forget my neighbors' name but they still know me) and watch the cutscene (accidentally) twice. I get a horse (I watched BotW YT, careful not to spoil too much, and also I paid ATTENTION to the TIPS on the LOADING SCREEN (and therefore now know how to shield surf)), check it in to one of the stables I find (Riverside, I think) and find out it's speed is 3 and all the rest are 2s. I want to get a better horse but fail because SOMEONE forgot to UPGRADE Link's STAMINA I go to the Ancient Tech Lab and think I'm getting all my memories back but NOPE! Adding THAT to your long lists of quests and sidequests, the people there say. Sheesh. After talking to Impa again, I go and find the memory where Zelda says she's almost 17 and then decide to go INTO THE UNKNOWN. I want to get to the wasteland tower that I see in the distance, so I do, on my horse, but it won't go down a hill. I try and edge it down but accidentally get it stuck on the hill, so I have to GO ON FOOT. I eventually get to the tower, and try to walk to the tower through the toxic waste twice, to no avail. I FINALLY figure out how to get onto the tower, using Magnesis, the crates and the stone pillars, and then decide to go to the blinking dot in the middle of the map marked "Gerudo Desert." In the distance, a bunch of Gerudo women wonder who that adventurer is that just jumped to his death and why his stamina wheel is so low I get Link to the town - just barely, and immediately get told off because I'm a Voe. "Whatever that means," I think and then get told off for not knowing what it means and also being Hylian. "Ahhh" I think. "I'm MALE. THEY DON'T LET MALE PEOPLE IN. good riddance."
