Ex. a Fire Guardian CAN'T have the name Sea or Windstorm. They CAN have the name Blaze or Magma. Furthermore, ANY Guardian can pick the name Arrow or Crown, because arrows and crowns are not associated with any element. However, a Guardian cannot pick the exact name of their element.
