This is the chapter book version of EH. -Prologue- It was a dark night, the moon barely peeking above the stormy clouds. Rain was pattering outside. It was midnight, three days before the school would open. Mr. Flips was pacing in circles, rubbing his temples. Ms. Krum peeked through the door. ``John, what are you doing up so late?`` she asked. Mr. Flips sighed. ``Sorry Meridian, just a bit nervous,`` he replied. Ms. Krum walked in. ``Don't worry. It'll go well. Headmaster said so. We already have many students signed up and ready to go,`` she said. Mr. Flips took a few deep breaths and smiled at Ms. Krum. ``Thank you, Meridian. It's getting late now, let's go to bed,`` he said. Ms. Krum gave her friend a faint and rare smile. ``Thank you John,`` she said. She walked back to her room gently. Mr. Flips waited there for a few more long seconds before straightening himself. He opened the large door to the library. There, above the large pond in the center, was the Darkness Scroll, sitting above the pond. Mr. Flips took a deep breath. He had waited his whole life for this. He sprang up into the air and reached for the Darkness Scroll. He caught onto the statue it was hanging from and he hug from there. Mr. Flips snatched the Darkness Scroll and smiled in the darkness. ``I'm sorry Meridian.`` he smirked. ``But I had to do this,``
